GoldenCon First Ever Golden Girls Fan Convention Set For April 2022

The beloved television series, The Golden Girls, is finally getting the event its fans deserve with the first-ever Golden-Con: Thank You For Being A Fan convention, set to take place in April 2022. The Golden Girls spanned seven seasons from 1985 to 1992 and starred Betty White, Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. All four of the leading ladies clinched an Emmy during the show’s seven-year run, and their ability to pull in and win over an audience didn’t stop there. The Golden Girls has been captivating fans for years, pulling in generation after generation and becoming one of the most loved sitcoms of all time.

According to the Golden-Con: Thank You For Being A Fan website, the weekend-long Golden Girls convention that is happening for the first time ever will be held in Chicago from April 22 thru April 24 in the historically known LGBTQ+ neighborhood, Northalsted. Some of the events that Golden-Con attendees can expect to see include a live parody show from Hell in a Handbag Theater Company, a “Greatest Gift” vendor’s market, a “Chicago: You’ve Got Style” costume parade, a weekend-long “Grab! That! Trivia! Dough!” battle, themed events, special guest appearances, and much more. Tickets for Golden-Con: Thank You For Being A Fan will be available soon.

Although it has been claimed that organizers have attempted to get Betty White to join the event, there’s still no official word on if America’s Sweetheart will be joining the upcoming convention. While a St. Olaf storytime with Rose is every fan’s dream, a Golden-Con convention is sure to be a weekend packed full of astounding events formally unimaginable, with hopefully an abundance of cheesecake. For a show that appeals to multiple generations of audiences, Golden-Con: Thank You For Being A Fan is sure to be a massive hit for Golden Girls fans in 2022.
