The Gossip Girl reboot seriously dropped the mic in a huge way in the season 1 finale. While season 2 has been ordered, there is no release date yet, which means audiences are in a waiting game. Season 1 gave viewers a satisfactory look into the new characters and established the post-COVID 19 universe that the show is set in (something that makes no sense in the reboot). The second season needs to go all out to some crazy new heights for characters, betrayals, and plot.

More Cameos From The Old Cast

While the new show is trying to forge an identity of its own, it is very much in the same world as the OG Gossip Girl with some differences in technology and time. The old cast making appearances adds veracity to their new world and reflects the reality of the 1% — everybody knows each other and their inner circles are tight.

Seeing Nelly Yuki, Milo, and Blair’s parents made the show a lot more exciting without taking the spotlight away from the new cast, and fans want to see more of their old favorites interact with the new guard in the reboot.

Monet And Luna Scheming

This dynamic duo has been considered some of the best characters in the reboot, and fans are itching to see more of them in the next season. Monet is ruthless, while Luna is sassy with a heart, and together they make for a lethal combination, especially when they plot against others.

Viewers got a fleeting glimpse of their combined power when they got Zoya kicked out of the fashion show by sending an inappropriate photo to everyone in the audience, but nothing more was seen after that. Their level of scheming was exactly what GG calls for, and people are here for the cattiness.

Shan’s Impact On Zoya And Julien’s Relationship

After a whole season of hanging out with her big sister’s friends who didn’t care much for her, Zoya finally found her crowd with the vivacious Shan and her friends. While JC seemed completely okay with Zoya having her own life and pals, there has got to be some kind of effect on the sisters’ bond because of the limited time they’ll spend together.

Shan seemed like a total troublemaker who may cause problems for both Zoya and her relationship with her sister, and the second season should jump right into it.

Max, Audrey, And Aki’s Relationship

These three were a relationship that fans were rooting for right from the beginning of the Gossip Girl reboot, and the finale finally brought them together, body and soul. The three share blinding chemistry, and everyone is waiting with bated breath to see how the polyamorous relationship plays out.

This is also new territory for the entire franchise, and it has been handled with a lot of care so far. Fans would like to see Aki, Max, and Audrey navigate it and possibly some break-up drama too.

A Good Love Interest For Zoya

The writers haven’t been fair to Zoya in the love interest department at all. After arriving at Constance, she got Julien’s boyfriend as a partner, which wasn’t quite as scandalous as it was intended to be, and the other guy she liked turned out to be a reporter.

Teen dramas like Gossip Girl thrive on romance, heartbreak, betrayal, and new relationships, so it’s quite odd that the new kid in school has barely got any romantic attention apart from Obie. Here’s hoping Cupid strikes in season 2.

An Epic Showdown Between Gossip Girl And Julien

The finale saw a supremely confident Julien reclaim her crown and clamber her way to the top by striking an unholy alliance with Gossip Girl/ Kate, where she would send in a bunch of tips, true and untrue, for her to post so that JC could control the narrative.

It’s quite exciting to see how this would play out because Julien sure has many secrets and giving them to Gossip Girl means creating a whole lot of chaos. Even Kate’s reaction to posting tips that may not be true would be something to watch out for.

A Memorable Villain

The Gossip Girl Reboot has had many big twists, but there hasn’t been a big villain who makes even the Upper East Siders and Brooklynites cower with fear — someone like Georgina Sparks. The conflict between the gang is always interesting to watch, but nothing is better than an agent of chaos messing around with the teens and turning them against each other.

The absence of a lovable villain is felt dearly, especially because Julien, Audrey, Luna, Zoya, Obie, Aki, and Max haven’t had the chance to reunite against a common enemy and take them down, like the good old days.

How Kate Will Keep Up GG

The identity of the dramatic blogger, now content creator, had been revealed in the very first episode of the show, and it was not smooth sailing for Kate and her Instagram account in the first season. After stalking students, gaining their trust and getting info out of them, getting Reema fired, and losing control of the account to Scott and Co., she finally got her footing.

However, her actions were extremely wrong at the very heart of it. No matter how she justified it, having a gossip account about her students would never be a good look. So it remains to be seen how Kate will handle her power (going fully dark would be a lot of fun), and if she’ll get caught or throw someone else under the bus.
