An artist has taken all three classic Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition cover models and combined them into one character in celebration of the GTA remaster collection’s upcoming release. While the games’ scant footage shown so far has been criticized by some, the updated versions of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas promise to overhaul each title with various upgrades, such as graphical improvements and modernized controls.

Developer Rockstar Games officially unveiled the GTA: The Trilogy remasters in October in celebration of Grand Theft Auto 3’s 20th anniversary. The remaster collection is set to release on modern platforms on November 11 and will come with higher-resolution textures, increased draw distances, rebuilt lighting, and reworked gameplay that brings each games’ controls in line with Grand Theft Auto V. Additionally, Rockstar is making the GTA trilogy more accessible, with GTA: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition being made available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day the trilogy launches. Similarly, the GTA 3 remaster will be added to PS Now on December 7, and the entire collection is making its way to mobile devices in 2022.

Posted on Twitter, artist Karsten Schreurs combined all three classic GTA trilogy models into one character in anticipation of the remasters’ launch. The artwork resembles Grand Theft Auto’s 3’s Misty, one of The Twins from Vice City, and San Andreas’s Rochell’le, creating a brand-new GTA character in the process. Since 2001, Rockstar has used characters like these on series box art and loading screens, making them a well-known GTA staple. Though some of these characters have little story importance, some of them (like Misty) have story roles.

…I’m still hyped for #RockstarGames #GTATrilogy and thought it might be nice to illustrate one of the three #GTA-cover-girls in my style. I couldn’t decide wich one, so I painted them all. As one. 😀 pic.twitter.com/aYP0GCApyL

Rockstar Games has used comic book-style artwork for GTA game covers since the release of Grand Theft Auto 3. Despite keeping with this art style, distaste for GTA: The Trilogy’s art style was expressed by many upon reveal, with a common rejoinder being that the semi-realistic approach looks too cartoonish. Despite this, the new art style in the GTA remasters strikes a balance between the original visuals of each game and modern textures and lighting.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is close at hand, and fans like Karsten Schreurs are showing their excitement (or disappointment) in a multitude of ways). Its release is only two days away, and pre-loading is available on PC and consoles ahead of November 11.
