During one unfortunate Halo Infinite player’s death screen, the usually somber occasion was interrupted by an intruder with impeccable comedic timing. Halo Infinite’s early launch has largely been positively received by players, though there have still been some issues with glitches and bugs. Most notably, Halo Infinite players experienced a dreaded blue screen of death early into the game’s release.

The long-awaited new installment into the Halo series released its multiplayer mode just days ago, ahead of its anticipated release. Although the campaign will not be released until December, players have already begun to sink themselves into the free multiplayer mode. Players are already discovering cool tricks and Easter eggs in the game, and the Halo Infinite subreddit and message boards are already being flooded with players posting their cool kills and wacky clips. Recently, one player posted a unique clip that used the game’s equipment in a brilliant and unique way. The player used a combination of a Repulsor and a Plasma Grenade to secure one of the most incredible kills in the short lifespan of Halo Infinite.

Twitter user DimberZ shared their own Halo Infinite clip that, while not quite as impressive, is certainly more entertaining. In the clip, DimberZ experiences the brutality of death, a common occurrence in a multiplayer match. While the kill cam focuses on DimberZ’s corpse while he waits to respawn, DimberZ is joined by an intruder. A chicken, one of the many critters that inhabit the Halo Infinite multiplayer map, starts strutting across the screen. The timing of the chicken’s appearance is quite hysterical, as DimberZ notes.

These sorts of cute, innocuous little gems in the Halo Infinite multiplayer are among the reasons 343 Industries has been praised for its efforts. Even though technical glitches, server instability, and plenty of bugs have plagued the launch, that’s to be expected of just about any new game at launch. It’s the attention to detail that allows hilarious moments like DimberZ’s encounter with a chicken all the more entertaining.

Most encouragingly is that, despite the issues at launch, 343 has been quick to respond to player issues and make changes. After players began to voice complaints that Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass was too “grindy”, 343 announced a series of changes to alleviate this pain point. With one of the biggest launches ever for an Xbox Studios product, Halo Infinite is already dominating the FPS shooter space. As one player found out, that space is home to more than just Spartans.
