Halo Infinite TikTok Video Shows How To Kill Enemies With Their Own Rockets

A Halo Infinite player is showing TikTok viewers how to deflect enemy rockets back to them with the new Repulsor equipment. 343 Industries launched the multiplayer component of the latest Halo title as a free-to-play experience last week, and Halo Infinite quickly broke Xbox records for its high player counts.

As is the case with any new installment of Xbox’s long-running FPS franchise, Halo Infinite has added plenty of new tools and weapons for players to use against each other in classic 4v4 matches or Halo Infinite’s larger-scale Big Team Battle. The Grappleshot equipment allows players to swing across maps like Spider-Man, and the Repulsor is useful for knocking opponents away or deflecting grenades. While the latter doesn’t deal any damage by itself in Halo Infinite, it’s proving quite handy for sending enemy attacks back to their source for easy kills. However, it takes good timing to pull it off.

Popular TikTok account VideoGameTrailers recently shared a video of a Halo Infinite player using the Repulsor to deflect an opponent’s rocket back at them during a Team Slayer match (via Dexerto). The game rewards players with a “Return To Sender” medal – as narrated by iconic Halo multiplayer announcer Jeff Steitzer – for executing a Repulsor kill. So far, VideoGameTrailers’s video has gained over 400,000 views and over 30,000 likes over just a few days, so it’s probable many more players are now aware of the visually spectacular mechanic.

This is far from the first time a Halo Infinite player has utilized the Repulsor to pull off a creative kill in multiplayer and shared it online, as a similar clip featuring the new tool being used to bounce a plasma grenade across the map to get an incredibly lucky kill recently made its home among Reddit’s dedicated Halo subreddit’s most popular posts of 2021. Other impressive Halo Infinite tricks involve players taking down Halo Infinite’s Wasp aircraft using power cells and an assortment of Grappleshot-propelled shenanigans.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has so far been met with a warm reception, despite some players taking issue with the free-to-play game’s microtransactions and the fact that Forge mode and campaign co-op won’t be available when the full game launches on December 8. With the positives outweighing the negatives in public discussion, it’s a stark contrast to the game’s first showing back in 2021, and it’s possibly a welcome indication for the game’s single-player content when it releases on December 8. In the meantime, players are already wowing viewers online by using Halo Infinite’s new multiplayer equipment like the Repulsor to score impressive kills.
