As players progress through Halo Infinite, the first boss they will encounter in the game is the Jiralhanae Warlord Tremonius. Master Chief will fight Tremonius during the Halo Infinite Foundations mission. Players will have the option to select their difficulty from Legendary, Heroic, Normal, and Easy. Selecting Normal or Easy will give players a wider variety of available weapons and strategies for fighting this boss.
As the fight begins, Tremonius will have a CQS48 Bulldog shotgun and a Hydra. He also wears a jetpack, which he uses to hover in the air and slam down into Master Chief. Assisting Tremonius are two Jackals with Manglers. Players should focus on the Jackals first before turning their attention to Tremonius. The easiest way to remove the Jackals is to use a hardlight fusion coil since the hardlight ammo will bounce, so players do not need perfect aim to still take out the Jackals. Players can find a hardlight fusion coil on the lower level near the door to the Cylix room on the West side of the map.
To avoid Tremonius’s charge attacks and dodge the Hydra’s launcher rockets, players should use the pillars in the room and the elevator. Tremonius will have a shield around him, which players can dismantle using a Pulse Carbine or a charged Plasma Pistol blast. In Halo Infinite, Plasma ammo is significantly more effective at dismantling shields than Kinetic ammo is. Once the boss’s shields are down, Master Chief can begin the offensive against Tremonius.
Use the Disruptor to Defeat Tremonius in Halo Infinite
Players can damage Tremonius in Halo Infinite with Kinetic ammo aimed at his head, using the Skewer with ammo if players still have it, or using well-timed sticky grenades. It is also possible to use Grappleshot to grab a fusion coil and throw it at him. To maximize damage with the sticky grenade, players should throw it as Tremonius lands from his jump attack. If players do consistent damage, Tremonius’s shields will stay down. If his shields do respawn, players can continue to remove them using a plasma weapon, likely the Pulse Carbine.
Players can use the Halo Infinite Grappleshot to quickly get out of the way of Tremonius’s jump and dash attack. Additionally, if the player dies during the fight, they will respawn right in his line of fire. Accordingly, players will want to have the Grappleshot handy to quickly move out of the way and find cover, usually behind a pillar.
An effective tactic to do a lot of damage to Tremonius is to use the Disruptor located on the weapon rack near the elevator while his shields are down. To use the Disruptor, players will have to drop one of their two weapons. The Pulse Carbine is probably the best weapon to drop since its primary purpose was to drop Tremonius’s shield. Accordingly, players should not grab the Disruptor until they have already dropped the shield toward the end of the fight.
Once defeated, players can take Tremonius’s Hydra and CQS48 Bulldog shotgun. Players should ride the elevator to complete the level. While they can’t replay the Halo Infinite Foundations mission, they can begin the third mission, Outpost Tremonius.
