In the Harry Potter franchise, we’re introduced to the four different houses at Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and finally, Slytherin. Slytherin is the house that Voldemort was once a part of and, while Harry Potter is in school, is the house of his nemesis, Draco Malfoy.
Even though Slytherin gets a little bit of a bad reputation from the bad witches and wizards that were sorted into that house, there were also a lot of totally awesome ones and Slytherin is the house that many fans of the series consider themselves to fit into. Slytherins tend to be determined, ambitious, and can be pretty cunning.

10 Breaking Bad
Breaking Bad is a TV show that aired on AMC from 2008 through 2013 and spawned a Netflix film set after the events of the show called El Camino as well as a spin-off prequel series called Better Call Saul. This series follows a high school chemistry teacher named Walter White whose life changes when he’s diagnosed with cancer.
Walter teams up with his former student, Jesse, in order to start cooking and selling methamphetamine so that he can pay for his cancer treatment and leave money behind for his wife and children after he dies. But, when Walter gets a taste of the power that comes with his new business, he changes and his inner Slytherin really comes out.
9 It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Even though most of the traits associated with being a Slytherin are mostly serious, that doesn’t mean that people in this house don’t still know how to have fun and take a joke – it just has to be done in a totally Slytherin way. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been airing on FX since 2005 and follows a group of friends living in Philly.
If these characters were transported to Hogwarts, we’re fairly certain that the Sorting Hat would struggle to figure out where to place them if not in Slytherin. The characters in the show, known as The Gang, aren’t great people. But the show is so hilarious that it’s impossible not to root for them anyway.
8 Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars is a suspenseful teen series that began airing on ABC Family, now known as Freeform, in 2010. It aired for a total of seven seasons before ending in 2017 with a major plot twist that no one saw coming. For Slytherins, this show’s twists and turns and the constant suspense and secrets that each of the characters are hiding is totally appealing.
The series follows a group of four high school students who were best friends until the disappearance of their friend, Alison. A year later, these friends are forced to come back together after they begin receiving anonymous messages from someone who seems to know things about them that only Alison knew.
7 Archer
Archer is an adult animated series that began airing on FX in 2009 and is currently still airing on FXX. This series follows the quirky members of an international spy agency as they handle cases and solve crimes.
Even though this show definitely has some intense and even heartfelt moments, it’s totally hilarious. At the heart of the action and comedy is the main character, Sterling Archer. Sterling Archer is definitely a textbook Slytherin and would make this show appealing to anyone else in that house.
6 Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones aired on HBO from 2011 through 2019 and is based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels. Slytherins are known for being ambitious and doing anything it takes to get ahead which is definitely a huge part of the Game of Thrones storyline. Plus the setting and creatures involved in this fantasy series are definitely bound to appeal to Harry Potter fans.
Game of Thrones is set in the fictional land of Westeros where several different families all battle to take control over the throne and reign over the entire kingdom. This series has all the mythical creatures, backstabbing, and royal drama that a Slytherin could ask for.
5 Big Little Lies
Big Little Lies began airing in 2017 on HBO. The series is based on a novel by the same name and is set in the beach town of Monterey, California. Monterey is a beautiful, quiet town full of large homes, successful families, and people that seem like they have it all.
But underneath that shiny exterior, there’s something dark going on in Monterey. Big Little Lies is a series that follows a group of three mothers that live in Monterey and bond through the fact that their children all go to school together. When a murder rocks the foundation of their quiet town, everyone wants to know who did it.
4 American Horror Story
If you’re looking for something creepy to watch, American Horror Story is the one to go for. This show is an anthology series, which means that each season isn’t necessarily connected to the previous ones as far as the storyline goes.
This means that you can just take a look at the synopsis for each season, pick one that seems interesting, and dive in. Or, you can start from the first season and watch all of them.
3 House Of Cards
One thing that sets a Slytherin apart is the fact that they will do anything to get what they want. Many Slytherins crave power and want nothing more than to take control of a situation and really be the one in charge. This is what would definitely make House of Cards, a Netflix original series that aired on the streaming service from 2013 to 2018, appealing to a Slytherin.
This political drama was based on a British series by the same name. It follows a married couple who come together to try to take down everyone in their path as Congress member Frank Underwood attempts to work his way up through the US government’s ranks.
2 A.P. Bio
A.P. Bio is a comedic series that stars Glenn Howerton as a former Harvard professor who didn’t land the dream job he was after. Dejected, he moves back to his hometown of Ohio in order to teach A.P. Biology to high school students. On his first day in the classroom, he makes it very clear that he doesn’t want to be there and has no intentions of teaching (or, letting his students learn in any way) biology.
Instead, he enlists his students as his minions who help him to get revenge against his former friend and colleague who he feels stole the job that he was after that caused him to move back to Ohio. This series is hilarious and the schemes and revenge plots are totally perfect for a Slytherin.
1 Scandal
If there’s one thing that any fan of shows like Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder knows, it’s the fact that creator Shonda Rhimes really knows how to create drama, suspense, and emotional moments. Among shows she’s created, Scandal is by far the best one for a Slytherin to check out.
Scandal follows Olivia Pope, the former media consultant to the president who is ready to leave the political spotlight and move on to start her own consulting firm. Unfortunately, life isn’t that simple for Olivia. Her past keeps coming back to haunt her and the complicated lives of those around her make for a ton of drama.
