The Wizarding World created by J.K. Rowling has a full infrastructure for the community to use. From bank, to a Ministry of Magic, to even a shopping centre, there’s a whole other universe for Harry and his friends to explore, once he is thrust away from his own Muggle landscape.
These amazing shops sell hundreds of necessary items that populate the Harry Potter universe. Wands, candy, jokey trinkets and other assorted items all line the window displays of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Some of these stores seem a lot more magical than others, with many being a prime location for fans of the franchise to explore.
10 Honeydukes
Honeydukes is the premium candy shop in the Wizarding World. It’s the kind of location that probably shouldn’t be too close to Hogwarts as the students there won’t have any money left once returning from this feast of confectionery.
Every kind of sweet food can be found here, with a special nod to Harry Potter favorites such as Bertie Bott’s Every Flavoured Beans and of course the Chocolate Frogs that surprise Harry in his first trip on the Hogwarts Express.
9 Ollivanders
Ollivander’s Wand Shop is one of the most crucial locations in the Wizarding World and the heart of Diagon Alley. Every new witch and wizard gets their wand from his store.
It’s a location where dreams have come true and young men and women have come to learn the true depth of their power. Unfortunately the dark times that the shop has faced in Harry Potter means that it is not quite what it used to be.
8 Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes
The Weasley twins are businessmen at heart and have opened up a shop in Diagon Alley that reflects their fun personality and their penchant for practical jokes.
Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes certainly offers up a whole host of tricks and magical toys, with many of them having been developed by the twins themselves after years of being troublemakers at Hogwarts.
7 Flourish And Blotts
Flourish and Blotts is one of the most important books shops in the Wizarding World in Harry Potter. It’s the hub of the literary landscape, often hosting big book signings and other such events.
It’s a little on the pricey side, but it is one of the most significant locations for both Hogwarts students and the wizarding community; with key pieces of research usually to be found amongst those pages.
6 Zonkos
Much like Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, Zonko’s Joke Shop sells all sorts of tricks and gags for kids and young adults to enjoy. It’s colorful, full of whimsy and just a lot of fun to explore.
There’s some real treasures amongst those shelves and there probably hasn’t been a kid from the Wizarding World who hasn’t begged their parents to buy something from Zonko’s at some stage of their lives.
5 Borgin And Burkes
Borgin and Burkes is the kind of place that only the darkest of Harry Potter wizards hang around at. It’s the grim location that Harry accidentally finds himself in when getting stuck in the Floo Network.
If someone is looking for an evil artefact or perhaps some other miscellaneous dark object then this is definitely the place. It’s the kind of location that fans would be fascinated to explore.
4 Florean Fortescue Ice-Cream Parlour
Everybody loves ice cream. Luckily for Harry Potter fans Florean Fortescue’s own parlour has a number of intriguing flavors that likely can’t be found anywhere else.
It’s a treat that Harry and his friends love to enjoy and would certainly rival the best Muggle ice cream out there. It offers both traditional flavors and a few peculiar ones as well.
3 Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment
Wizarding Equipment is a crucial part of every day life. It’s difficult to understand how many magical items one might need in their work or homes. Luckily Wiseacres has the community covered.
It’s a location fans would love to visit because it is full of surprising trinkets. In many ways it’s the lighter version of Borgin and Burkes; a useful store without all the dark magic.
2 Quality Quidditch Supplies
The Quidditch pitch is sacred territory for many Hogwarts students. Only the best equipment is worthy of being used in this incredibly important game.
From the world’s fastest brooms to quality bats and keepers gloves that will become incredibly useful for the specialised positions, this shop really has it all if someone is a fan of the Harry Potter sport.
1 The Magic Lantern
The Magic Lantern isn’t a very well known location from the books or even larger Wizarding World, but it’s certainly a pretty and intriguing one. It specializes in all sorts of magical lights.
Light is pretty easy to conjure out in the world, since most wizards and witches can just use their wands. Therefore, the magical lights and lanterns that are created here have special properties and fantastic glows that would really improve any room. It’s a unique find for fans exploring the world.
