Coinciding with the release of Marvel Studios’ latest Disney+ series, Hawkeye, Marvel Comics will soon be launching a brand new Hawkeye miniseries featuring Clint Barton’s young protege Kate Bishop. Before the first issue hits comic shelves, Marvel has released a brief trailer giving comic fans a preview of what’s in store for the series’ titular archer.

Introduced as a leading member of the teenage superhero force the Young Avengers, it wasn’t long before Kate Bishop was cemented as a Marvel mainstay. Matt Fraction (The Invincible Iron Man) and David Aja (Immortal Iron Fist)’s 2012-2015 Hawkeye run catapulted Bishop’s popularity to an even further degree within the comic book sphere. The run itself will serve as a major inspiration for Marvel’s Hawkeye television series, which will premiere on Disney+ on November 24th. Following the classic Fraction and Aja Hawkeye run was Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero’s Hawkeye, which focused on the further adventures of Bishop as the official bearer of the mantle. After the former series took the new Hawkeye to the West Coast region of Los Angeles, Kate Bishop will finally be returning to her native homeland of New York City in a standalone comic from writer Marieke Nijkamp and artist Enid Balam.

Before Nijkamp and Balam’s Hawkeye: Kate Bishop hits comic shops in November, Marvel has released a trailer for the series featuring the beloved incarnation of the character. Hawkeye will find herself relocating to New York City to investigate a developing conspiracy, that happens to hurl her straight into a cryptic jewel heist. Thompson and Romero’s previous Hawkeye series introduced the concept of Bishop operating as a superhero private investigator, which looks to be maintained within the current series. Marvel has made it quite clear that this miniseries will not completely rely on continuity. This run should provide a jumping-on point for nearly any fan who may or may not want to become familiar with the title character prior to actress Hailee Steinfeld’s portrayal of Kate on the Hawkeye TV series.

Marvel’s exclusive trailer depicting a series of Bishop’s oddball adventures. Armed with her massive assortment of trick arrows, Hawkeye makes quick work of a group of masked criminals attempting to rob a bank (and taking plenty of selfies while she does it). Though her title may derive from an established Marvel hero, there does not seem to be any supporting Marvel superheroes in sight, most specifically Bishop’s former mentor and predecessor Clint Barton. However, Kate will have somewhat of a trusty companion on her next adventure in the form of a lovable furry sidekick, Lucky the Pizza Dog.

With the long-awaited release of Hawkeye: Kate Bishop, November looks to be a crowd-pleasing month for both new readers and hardcore fans of Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. The all-new Hawkeye: Kate Bishop #1 hits is available on November 17th.
