Infinite versions of Hawkeye exist throughout the multiverse of Marvel Comics, and the 2099 version of the character has a unique set of weapons. Hawkeye 2099, who hails from one of Marvel’s darkest future timelines, has a natural set of razor-sharp claws and a pair of wings. Not only can this variant fly, but he can do more damage with his nails than the Ultimate version.
This Hawkeye derives his unique powers by having his DNA blended with that of an actual hawk. This makes him a more literal hybrid than the Earth-616 Hawkeye, who has no superpowers.
8 Boomerangs
Hawkeye is more than just an expert with the bow. He is also highly proficient in using boomerangs as deadly weapons. He came by his skill with the unique weapon from Trick Shot, a supervillain who trained him in the use of the boomerang and other instruments as a boy. Trick Shot was part of the Carson Carnival of Travelling Wonders and worked with The Swordsman in the same act Hawkeye eventually joined.
In Solo Avengers #1-4, Hawkeye and Trick Shot battle each other with their respective weapons. Each man uses the weapons of the other in the course of the fight, with Hawkeye proving his skill and knowledge with the boomerang.
7 Captain America’s Shield
There are many important versions of Captain America in Marvel Comics. One of them is Hawkeye. Hawkeye became Captain America for a brief time after Steve Rogers’ apparent assassination after Civil War and took up Captain America’s shield. With his mastery of weapons, Hawkeye is one of the few people in the comics who can use the shield with any skill.
Hawkeye also used the shield and well on numerous occasions prior to this. He was trained by Captain America in a variety of martial arts and battle tactics and used the shield in training and battle many times.
6 Vantastic
Vantastic is a tremendous piece of weaponry for Clint Barton that first appeared in Occupy Avengers #4 in 2017. Vantastic is a sentient van that can transform essentially into a robot, created by S.H.I.E.L.D. Hawkeye used the van to awesome effect against Skrulls who had infiltrated a small town in Iowa.
In its robot mode, Vantastic can fight like any other combatant. The van features incredibly advanced AI that makes it highly intelligent and also uses a modulation field that makes the van bigger on the inside, not unlike the TARDIS.
5 Sky-Cycle
The Sky-Cycle is likely Hawkeye’s most well-known piece of equipment outside of his bow and arrows. Hawkeye began using the modified motorcycle in the first issue of his first solo series in 1983. The Sky-Cycle is both a bike and a flying vehicle, allowing him to keep up with some of the Avengers fliers, like Iron Man, War Machine, or Vision.
It has a voice-operated autopilot, allowing Hawkeye to fire off arrows while he’s riding it. Given how closely linked it is to Hawkeye, it’s possible that the bike could appear in the forthcoming streaming series.
4 Knives
Hawkeye learned to use a variety of weapons while he was the protégé of The Swordsman in the circus. One of them was The Swordsman’s signature weapons, knives. Clint Barton learned up close and personal the necessary skill to handle knives, as he was often at the center of the attraction where The Swordsman threw knives at him.
Hawkeye also learned how to fight with swords from his teacher, including how to fence. The two battled numerous times when Clint was part of the Avengers. It’s likely they will in the MCU as The Swordsman is set to appear in Hawkeye.
3 Katana
Hawkeye’s most brutal sword is the katana. He used this to devastating effect while he was Ronin. Hawkeye becomes Ronin while on an undercover mission in Japan. He then adopts samurai-esque armor and the katana, which he uses in a variety of major storylines, including Secret Invasion, which is set to be its own series in the MCU.
The katana is a Japanese sword most commonly associated with the samurai and features a curved blade that is brutally efficient against one enemy or several, as Clint demonstrated in the comics and MCU.
2 Bow
Hawkeye’s bow is one of the best weapons in the MCU and Marvel Comics. It’s not just any bow, as Hawkeye has shown through his history in the comics. The highly advanced weapon demands enormous strength in which to use. The draw-weight bow has a strength of 250 pounds-force, meaning not just anyone can use it.
The bow is also collapsible. Various versions of it can collapse down into extremely compact sizes and then spring into full size with the press of a button. The bow is also extremely durable, able to be used defensively against other melee weapons.
1 Trick Arrows
Hawkeye’s best weapons are his arrows, which MCU fans know come in a seemingly endless variety. In the comics, Hawkeye has used a number of unique arrows against his enemies.
