Hawkeye’s Lucky The Pizza Dog Poses With Actual Pizza Box

Hawkeye’s Lucky the Pizza Dog is stealing hearts on Instagram after posing with her head through an actual pizza box. Clint Barton’s furry companion first appears in the 2012 Hawkeye comic series by Matt Fraction and David Aja Omnibus, where Clint rescues him from a mobster group known as the Tracksuit Mafia. In a comic told exclusively from Lucky’s point of view, the golden retriever reveals he calls himself “Pizza Dog” because, perhaps predictably, he loves pizza.

Images from the set of Disney+’s upcoming Hawkeye series recently confirmed that Lucky the Pizza Dog will be featured in the show. The series will reportedly follow Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as he grapples with the trauma of Avengers: Endgame and trains young archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). Stars like Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, and Alaqua Cox round out the cast, and Florence Pugh is even slated to make an appearance as Yelena Belova.

But the real star could be Jolt – the puppy actor portraying Lucky the Pizza Dog – who recently posed on Instagram with her head through a pizza box. The golden retriever’s account posted the photo with the caption “Am I doing this right?” followed by the hashtags #pizzadog and #butwhyisthepizzagone. She’s looking directly into the camera, showing off her modeling skills. Check out the adorable photo below:

The image hints at future furry photo shoots as production on Hawkeye continues, potentially foreshadowing the canine star’s rise to social media fame. Jolt recently appeared on Renner’s Instagram, and she’ll likely continue to make guest appearances on other cast members’ social media in the coming months. There’s arguably no better way for Hawkeye to attract viewers than through a cute dog (especially one who puts her head through pizza boxes). Her involvement in the project will almost certainly grab the attention of people who may not have been interested in Hawkeye otherwise.

Lucky’s Instagram presence also bodes well for the show, as it gives fans an opportunity to keep up with the character outside of the series. He certainly won’t be Disney’s first scene-stealing animal or creature-like companion. But Lucky is one of Disney’s first real-life furry companions with his own Instagram page, which could make him one of the more iconic additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, the golden retriever has the potential to become Hawkeye’s Baby Yoda, its BB-8, or even its Olaf. So be sure to keep an eye out for the golden-faced pup. Her modeling career and his acting career are likely just getting started.
