Heels Season 2 Confirmed By Stephen Amell

Stephen Amell confirms that Heels has been renewed for a second season at Starz, with the actor posting on Twitter, “I want my belt back.”

Heels has officially been renewed for season 2 at Starz. The series follows the men and women of the Duffy Wrestling League, a family-owned wrestling promotion in Duffy, Georgia. The show specifically focuses on Jack (Arrow’s Stephen Amell) and Ace Spade (Vikings’ Alexander Ludwig), two brothers feuding over the legacy of their late father, who founded the league. The brothers are rivals inside and outside of the ring, with one serving as the “heel,” or villain, and the other as the “face,” or hero. Heels oscillates between thrilling wrestling matches and simmering, character-based drama, with familial tensions often at the center.

Per Variety, Heels will continue to flesh out the story of the DWL in season 2. Other plotlines, such as Jack’s marital woes and Crystal’s burgeoning wrestling career, will certainly be a focus for season 2 as well. Star Stephen Amell took to Twitter to confirm the news. “I want my belt back,” reads the actor’s caption. Production on the new season is scheduled to begin in 2022.

Created by Ricky and Morty and Loki writer Michael Waldron, Heels first premiered on Starz in August. Mike O’Malley serves as showrunner, and he’ll continue in that role for the upcoming season. O’Malley also acts in the series as Charlie Gully, the spectacle-seeking proprietor of the Florida Wrestling Dystopia.

In addition to O’Malley, Ludwig, and Amell, Heels also stars Alison Luff as Staci Spade, Chris Bauer as Wild Bill Hancock, Kelli Berglund as Crystal Tyler, Roxton Garcia as Thomas Spade, Allen Maldonado as Rooster Robbins, James Harrison as Apocalypse, and Mary McCormack as Willie Day. The series also features a number of cameos from WWE superstars and independent wrestlers, including CM Punk and PJ Hawx.
