Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

Cooking competition series Hell’s Kitchen has aired 17 seasons to date, with an 18th coming up this year. Since 2005, the series has contestants enter a professional kitchen where they must run successful dinner services under the leadership and training of Chef Gordon Ramsay. As per his signature style, Chef Ramsay screams, swears, and throws things as he tries to, er, inspire these ambitious young chefs the best they can be.

The winning prize is $250,000, delivered in the form of a one-year salary for working at one of Ramsay’s restaurants in the U.S., Canada, or even London. In some cases, the winners have opted out of the employment contract and taken the cash prize instead. So where are they now? Here’s a look back at some of the 17 winners to date, and what they are doing now.

11 Michael Wray – Season 1

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

After winning the first season of the series, the heavily tattooed trailblazer, who won before we all knew of the wrath of Chef Ramsay to come, was offered a job in London as part of his prize. He didn’t take the job due to family reasons, and went on to work as head chef at the Standard in Los Angeles, then running his own knife company and teaching cooking.

Unfortunately, the story took a bad turn for Wray. He went through many hardships, including struggles with drugs and addiction, divorce from his wife, and the loss of a newborn child. He is currently running a GoFundMe campaign where he’s asking people to pledge money to help him start over.

10 Rahman “Rock” Harper – Season 3

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

After taking the job as head chef at Terra Verde near Las Vegas, Harper moved up the ladder and worked as an executive chef at Washington restaurant Ben’s Next Door.

Going beyond the kitchen, he also taught at Stratford University and authored a book called 44 Things Parents Should Know About Healthy Cooking for Kids. He was offered an executive chef position at Ohio steakhouse The Precinct after winning Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell, but decided not to take it. His Facebook page indicates his current title as President of RockSolid Creative Food Group,

9 Christina Machamer – Season 4

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

Now 37, Machamer won when she was just 25. She moved to London to work as senior sous chef at the London West Hollywood restaurant. But she then followed another passion – wine – which she studied in Napa Valley to become a Certified Sommelier, and worked at Bouchon in Beverly Hills.

She is employed at B Cellars in Napa Valley, where she also manages the Caldwell Vineyard. Her website indicates that she also consults with Napa luxury brands to “build and enhance their culinary and hospitality experiences.” She returned to Hell’s Kitchen twice, once in season 11 as part of a group of returning winners that competed against the final five, and a second time in season 16 as a guest, where she also provided the female contestants with advice about how to work under the pressure of the demanding show.

8 Dave Levey – Season 6

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

Arguably one of the most fascinating wins, Levey fractured his wrist early in the competition but decided to continue on. Nicknamed by Chef Ramsay the “one-armed bandit,” he made dish after dish seamlessly while one arm was in a sling.

After taking the prize-winning job at Araxi Restaurant & Bar in Whistler, BC, which turned out to be a line cook position and not head chef, he moved back to New Jersey and worked at a number of other jobs. While his public social media hasn’t been updated in a few years, some sources suggest that he is now head baker at Mara’s Café & Bakery in Denville.

7 Nona Sivley – Season 8

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

Working as the head chef at LA Market in Los Angeles for three years after her season eight win, Sivley then went on to work at Pork & Beans in Las Vegas, though it appears she was abruptly fired under controversial circumstances. The restaurant is seemingly now be closed.

She then launched her own catering company called Sizzling Peach in Georgia, which seems to be going strong, offering catering for private dinners and large parties within Atlanta and surrounding areas.

6 Christina Wilson – Season 10

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

First serving as head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Paris Las Vegas then an executive at Gordon Ramsay BurGR in Planet Hollywood Casino in Vegas, Wilson has remained a close member of the Hell’s Kitchen family since her win. She appeared on the show’s 15th, 17th, and 18th seasons as a sous chef to aid the contestants on the red team. She has also appeared on other Ramsay series like Hotel Hell and 24 Hours to Hell and Back.

Someone else is listed as the chef at Gordon Ramsay BurGR, which has since been renamed Gordon Ramsay Burger. So it’s unclear if Wilson still works there, or has since moved on.

5 Scott Commings – Season 12

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

Commings, 36 at the time of his win, was awarded the head chef position at the Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. Unlike other winners who seemed to shine right from the beginning, Commings made a massive comeback on the show to rise from near the bottom of the pack to pull himself together for the win. He showed some serious cooking chops.

Today, he appears to be a partner/owner in his own company, Established Culinary Management, and is a father.

4 La Tasha McCutchen – Season 13

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

After working for one year at Gordon Ramsay’s Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City, NJ, McCutchen starting her own business working as a private chef.

According to a Facebook Page, the Winter Haven, FL native, who refers to herself as Chef Tasha Mac, currently works as a sous chef at Gallery Restaurant at The Ballantyne, where she has been working since early 2018. The Ballantyne is a luxury collection hotel in an affluent neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.

3 Ariel Malone – Season 15

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

After working as head chef at BLT Steak in Bally’s Las Vegas until the start of 2017, Malone was reportedly “pursuing other opportunities,” after that, though there’s little information accessible about anywhere she might have landed.

Originally a country club chef from Hackensack, NJ, her Facebook page notes that she had identical twins back in May, and it appears that she is focusing on being a mother to her two new little ones at the present time.

2 Kimberly Ann Ryan – Season 16

Hells Kitchen Where Are They Now

As part of her winning deal for season 16, Ryan got the head chef job at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar at The Venetian in Las Vegas. It’s unclear if she’s still there; Sandra Palomo was an executive chef in 2017.

Ryan’s Instagram page lists her as a “mom” who “cooks,” but does not list any job of note. Her bio also suggests that she went from Michigan to Vegas and back to Michigan again, so she is likely employed somewhere there.

1 Michelle Tribble – Season 17

The most recent winner, Tribble appears to still be working as head chef at Ramsay’s new Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, where the upcoming 18th season is rumored to be set to film.

Check out her official Facebook page, where she posts images of delicious dishes, from mouth-watering pasta carbonara to chicken fried steak and lobster rolls. Her season 17 appearance was actually the second time she was on the show; Tribble originally appeared on season 14 where she placed third. She was just 26 when she won.
