How Genshin Impacts Traveler Will Be Different In The 20 Update

The Version 2.0 update for Genshin Impact is releasing at the end of July. It contains the massive new region of Inazuma with six islands for players to explore. This is the Electro region that many fans have been anticipating since the Fatui mentioning it during their involvement in Liyue. For those who played Ghost of Tsushima, the islands of Inazuma give off a similar vibe in terms of varying scenery and building aesthetics.

Along with the new region comes a multitude of new mini-games, puzzles, story arcs, and characters for players to interact with. There are also a handful of new enemies confirmed for Genshin Impact 2.o. It seems that the next update will bring in the most amount of content yet as players seek out resistance groups and unravel the mystery of Inazuma and its Archon, Baal.

While there are many activities to do and places to explore, the Traveler is also getting a new Vision. The Traveler has most likely not been in many player’s parties due to the Traveler’s lack of usefulness to other characters that can be obtained from Wishing. Free-to-play players may still have the multi-elemental protagonist on their team, depending on how their Wishes go. However, there are better Anemo and Geo elemental types that have overtaken the Traveler’s spot in terms of usefulness. Currently, the Traveler’s Anemo and Geo powers lack when compared to characters like Jean, Venti, Albedo, and Zhongli.

Genshin Impact Traveler’s New Electro Powers & Playstyle

With Genshin Impact 2.0, the Traveler will finally be getting access to the Electro element. Although the Traveler is most likely one of the strongest free-to-play characters, being able to be upgraded fully in Constellations without paying money, their ability is outshined as a main fighter on the team. With the Traveler gaining an Electro Vision, it could even the playing field and move the Traveler up Genshin Impact’s tier list; however, there are many Electro characters that sit at the forefront of players’ teams, since those characters are great for triggering Elemental Reactions. The full livestream for Genshin Impact Version 2.0 can be found below:

In the 2.0 trailer and Special Program, viewers can see the Traveler launch three Electro shuriken-like energy blades, as well as the ability to call down lightning to strike an area. It will be a little while longer before players will be able to get their hands on the Traveler’s new Electro abilities, but Genshin Impact 2.0 seems to be trying to make the Traveler more relevant again.
