How Terry Silver Can Undo Tory & Robbys Cobra Kai Punishment

Because of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), Cobra Kai can finally put Tory (Peyton List) and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) back in school. The two were expelled for their roles in the season 2 finale’s high school brawl. They were the only main characters to receive such a punishment for the events that took place that day.

Both Tory and Robby are expected to factor into the Terry Silver story in Cobra Kai season 4. Following a tease in the season 3 finale, the Netflix series is poised to bring back the Karate Kid Part III villain in a major way. The Cobra Kai season 4 trailer has confirmed what many long suspected would be the case; Silver will be teaming up with Kreese (Martin Kove) against Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka). What that means for his story arc is that apart from working closely with Kreese, he’s likely to have interactions with characters like Tory and Robby, especially since they’re Cobra Kai’s two biggest weapons for the next All-Valley Karate Tournament.

What Terry Silver joining Cobra Kai could mean from them specifically may have been hinted at in the trailer too. It looks like both will attend prom at some point in the season, which would imply their expulsion will somehow be reversed. These sorts of things are rarely done, but if there’s anyone who could make it happen for Cobra Kai’s Robby and Tory, it’s Terry Silver. In The Karate Kid Part III, the character was depicted as a filthy rich and extremely resourceful businessman. Unless Cobra Kai reveals he no longer has his fortune, the villain should still be well-connected. Since that’s an important aspect of his character and a big part of what makes him so dangerous, there’s a chance this will still be the case in Cobra Kai. If so, he could easily pull some strings and get their top two students back in school.

Silver making efforts to undo their punishments makes sense for a few reasons, the first of which being the All-Valley Karate Tournament’s rules. It’s quite possible that being enrolled in school is a requirement for tournament participation. Plus, Kreese and Terry may find having them at school advantageous. Kreese has agreed to a truce of sorts with Johnny and Daniel, but the idea of there not being any conflict between the dojos before the tournament doesn’t seem plausible. Getting two of their best students in school can help them continue to cause trouble for Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang.

Most importantly, Robby and Tory being allowed to re-enroll can be good for Cobra Kai. After all, their expulsion limits the show in terms of how much screentime they can share with Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Sam (Mary Mouser), Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) o Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo). Undoing that and throwing them all together under one roof would promise to bring plenty of tension and chaos in season 4.
