Pokémon Sword & Shield is the 8th generation of Pokémon games. While there are many Pokémon who first appeared in earlier generations and have made their return to Pokémon Sword & Shield, there is plenty of completely new Pokémon as well. One of these new Pokémon is Corviknight.
Corviknight fills an important role within the Galar region, where Pokémon Sword & Shield takes place. Players will see Corviknights as they travel throughout the land, as the residents use them as an aerial taxi service. The Corviknight is a giant black bird that resembles a raven. Indeed, the category of Corviknight is a Raven Pokémon. Players will eventually unlock the ability to fast-travel using these Corviknight. Players can get one (or more) of their very own, although sadly it cannot fly them around, but it can be used in a battle. There is nothing requiring players to obtain a Corviknight, but it is rewarding to do so, is decent in a fight, and it is relatively easy to obtain once players know how.
How to find Corviknight in Pokémon Sword & Shield
One of the Pokémon that players can get early on in the game is Rookidee. It is a little bird Pokemon, and it can be found along Route 1, as well as many other areas as the player progresses throughout the game. In fact, it might be one of the first Pokémon the player encounters. This flying-type Pokémon is generally low level, and players may elect to put Rookidee in storage as they encounter more exciting and higher-level Pokémon. There is a reason to take the time to level up Rookidee. Upon reaching level 18, Rookidee will evolve into Corvisquire. Once Corvisquire reaches level 38, it evolves into the final evolution, Corviknight.
Corviknight is a flying/steel-type, and this means it is good against grass, flying, bug, rock, and fairy-types. It is also weak to Pokémon with electric, ice, rock, fire, fighting, and ground-type moves. In addition, its steel-type means that poison moves have no effect on Corviknight.
Corviknight can also be found in its final evolution all around the Wild Area. Players should look around the Lake of Outrage, Dusty Bowl, Giant’s Cap, Motostoke Riverbank, North Lake Miloch, Watchtower Ruins, or Hammerlock Hills. It is relatively easy to find. Still, it is best to evolve a Corviknight from a Rookidee for two reasons. First, it is satisfying to see a small bird grow into a massive battle-raven. Also, players need these evolutions to completely fill out the Pokédex.
