Throughout the course of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there are all kinds of different things for players to do. Those who want to can complete the main parts of the game’s campaign, track down and hunt massive dangerous animals, or even discover various collectible objects spread throughout the world. Some of these collectible items can provide the players with interesting new abilities.
For example, the Books of Knowledge in Valhalla can provide players with brand new combat abilities for Eivor to use against their enemies. By collecting all of these Books of Knowledge, players can ensure that they are well equipped with nearly anything that the game can throw at them. The problem here though is that the Books of Knowledge aren’t always easy to track down, so most players will probably need some help. This guide shows players how to find all of the Books of Knowledge.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: What are Books of Knowledge
The Books of Knowledge can be found all throughout the world, so players will need to look pretty hard to track all of them down. The books aren’t actually pinpointed directly on the map for players to find, but rather a small gold marker will appear on the player’s HUD bar that points in the direction of a nearby piece of loot. Players won’t be able to tell the difference between an Ingot, Gear, Cargo, or Book just be looking at the marker, so they will instead need to get closer. By making it within fifty meters of the object players will be able to scan it and determine what exactly it is.
Players are then able to go and collect the book, and by getting one they will then unlock a brand new ability for Eivor. These abilities can range from the ability to throw several axes at once, the ability to summon a wolf companion, and many others. Specific Books will give players certain skills, and there can actually several Books related to the same skills. By collecting these additional Books the player will actually receive an upgrade for that specific skill.
- Throwing Axe Fury- This is probably the first Book of Knowledge that players will find. Players will need to go to Nottfall town in Rygjafylke. The Book will be inside a cave near the backside of the village.
- Incendiary Powder Trap- Players will find the first Book for this skill in the southern portion of Grantebridgescire in the town of Walden. The Book will be inside the church here. The second book will be found if players travel to a small island in the direct center of Suthsexe. The Book will be on top of the tallest tower here.
- Focus Of the Nornir- If players go to the Ledecestrescire and go to the southwest they find a fort named Offchurch. The first Book for this skill be underneath the fort. They will find another underneath Bolinbroc Castle which is east of Lincoln in Lincolnscire.
- Rush and Bash- Players will need to travel west from the city of Walden to find an enemy fort that contains the first Book. The second Book will be found on the east coast of East Anglia, underneath Dunwic fort.
- Kick of Tyr- There is an enemy camp called Threaded Pass that is south of the Derwent River, and players will find the first Book for this skill here. Then if players go to the mountain range on the southern portion of Snotinghamscire they will find Ulkerthorpe Fort which contains the second Book.
- Rage of Helheim- West of the city of Jorvik there will be a tiny church that contains the first Book for this skill. Then if players travel northeast of Kyorve’s Fortress there will be a cave that contains the second Book of Knowledge.
- Blinding Rush- This first Book of Knowledge will require players to travel to northern East Anglia and look for it inside the Ruined Tower. The second Book will be found in the area where the borders for Suthsexe, Hamtunscire, and Oxenefordscire meet inside of a church.
- Thorn of Slumber- If the player travels south of Nottfall they will discover a watchtower where the first Book resides. The second one will be found inside of Dover Fortress.
- Focus of the Nornir- The only Book for this skill can be found back at Bolinbroc Castle again.
- Man’s Best Friend- Players will need to travel to the northern wall of Lunden to find this Book just outside in a small fort.
- Feign Death- Players will find Roman ruins on the western border of Oxenefordscire. There will be an enemy fort here that contains the first Book of Knowledge. The second Book will be found at a bandit camp in Aelfwood.
- Vengeance of Thor- There is a small house inside the town of Oxenforda that contains this first Book. If players then travel to the hostile camp Thieve’s Warren they will find another small house containing the second Book.
- Poisonous Powder Trap- On the far western edge of Snotinghamscire players will find the Book of Knowledge inside of Odin Mine Hideout.
- Harpoon Impalement- If players travel northwest from Alcestre Monastery they will discover the town of Venonis that contains the first Book of Knowledge for this skill. The second one will be inside the tower of Sancta Helena’s church which is in north Colcestre.
- Axe Blizzard- If the player goes east of East Anglia they will find the ruins of a church just before a river. The first Book of Knowledge will be inside of this church. The second one will be found if players travel to Wincestre and go inside the garrison here.
- Raven Distraction- Inside of the Tonnastadir encampment, which is northeast of Dudmastun Lake, players will find the first Book of Knowledge. The second Book for this skill can be found inside of an enemy camp located south of Colcestre.
- Piercing Shot- If the player travels south of Fascartin they will discover Templebrough Fort just before Sudwell Monastery. Inside this fort they will find the first Book for this skill. The second one will be found by exploring in the northern portion of the town of Lincoln.
- Mark of Death- If the player travels southwest from Grantebridge they will stumble across a raidable village called Meldeburne. This is where they will find the first Book. The second Book of Knowledge for this skill can be found if they go the western portion of Hordfylke and explore a cellar in Alrekstead.
- Dive of the Valkyries- Players will need to travel east of the city of Ravensthorpe and discover another raidable location called the Isle of Ely Monastery. Here they will find the first Book of Knowledge for this skill. The second Book on the other hand will be found if the player goes Lunden and finds the Lolingestone Bandit Camp near the river on the city’s southeastern side. They will find the other Book here.
