As of the League of Legends recent 11.11 patch update, several champions have been receiving huge nerfs, buffs, or entire re-works. In regards to buffs, the champion Seraphine has received a huge late-game buff to her W, meaning now is a great time for interested players to pick her up.
The Starry-Eyed Songstress Seraphine is a low-difficulty mage who plays as both a support and mid-laner. Seraphine is a relatively simple champion, so players don’t need to memorize crazy combos to use her kit effectively. Combos like R > E > Q and E > R > Q are effective, and players should be auto-attacking after the Q to deal extra damage. In team fights, Seraphine is great when focusing on supporting her allies with protection and utility.
How to Play Seraphine
First, here are Seraphine’s abilities:
- Q: High Note: Seraphine projects a pure note, dealing damage that scales with the target’s missing Health percentage.
- W: Surround Sound: Seraphine provides bonus movement speed and a shield to herself and nearby allies. If she already has a shield, she will provide healing as well as a shield.
- E: Beat Drop: Seraphine unleashes a heavy soundwave that slows and deals magic damage to enemies in a line.
- R: Encore: Seraphine projects a captivating force that charms enemies and deals magic damage. Any champions struck extend the range of the ability.
- Passive: Stage Presence: Every third ability Seraphine casts will echo, automatically casting a second time. In addition, Seraphine gains an attack range and damage boost when a nearby ally casts an ability.
The standard Rune page for Seraphine as a Support includes Resolve as the first branch, with Guardian, Shield Bash, Second Win, and Revitalize keystones. The second branch is Inspiration, with Biscuit Delivery, Cosmic Insight, Adaptive Force (x2), and Magic Resist as the keystones. For Mid lane, players can go with this build, or opt for a Sorcery build with Aery and Manaflow Band for her first Rune branch.
For players who are accustomed to utility healers like Sona, Janna, and Karma, Seraphine shouldn’t be too hard of a champion to pick up, and a great way for support players to try their hand at midlane as well. With her recent buffs, Seraphine is even better than before, so players should learn her abilities and give her a spin!
