Dennis Reynolds is probably one of the most unhinged characters on television. Despite his charming and good-looking exterior (or so he would like you to believe), Dennis is a psychopath. There’s no question about that.

In the early seasons, Dennis was a bit unhinged. He had a bit of a temper, he was explosive, and there were moments that made us question his sanity. But he has since regressed into full-on psycho mode and fans are not convinced that he isn’t a serial killer.

Aside from straight-up murdering someone (give it time), these are the ten most psychotic things that Dennis Reynolds has done.

10 The D.E.N.N.I.S. System

The D.E.N.N.I.S. system is indicative of Dennis’s narcissistic traits. While he thinks he is wooing and seducing a woman, he is actually displaying some incredibly psychotic and selfish tendencies that has ladies running for the hills. Part of his brilliant plan includes issuing death threats over the phone, being openly hostile and uncaring, and causing her to fall into complete emotional distress and dependency. He’s not exactly Romeo.

9 Frame Banging

In Paddy’s Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens, Dennis gives The Lawyer a deal – he will slip into his house at night and physically engage with his wife while she’s sleeping. That way “you’re both cheating on each other and she can’t clean you out.” For some bizarre reason, Dennis doesn’t see a problem with this. He refers to this as a “frame bang.” The Lawyer has a better and more accurate word for it – “rape.”

8 Wanting To Kill The Waitress

To get into the mind of a serial killer, Dennis and Dee decide to stalk the Waitress. That’s psychotic enough, but things get even worse when Dennis gets a little too into character. His plan is to strangle the Waitress and then have Dee chop her into pieces. After a brief maniacal laugh of glee, Dee reminds Dennis (much to his disappointment) that they aren’t actually going to kill the Waitress. Dennis calls this revelation “a bummer.”

7 Locking People In His Apartment (While It’s On Fire)

The ending of “The Gang Squashes Their Beefs” is certainly dark. After a fire is started in Mac and Dennis’s apartment, the gang runs into the hallway and Dennis proceeds to lock everyone inside.

While Dee and Frank show some hesitation against the plan, Dennis confidently states that everyone will flee through the fire escape. This does indeed happen, but Cricket is left horribly burned in the fire.

6 His Tools

If you need evidence that Dennis is an active serial killer, look no further than “The High School Reunion Part 2: The Gang’s Revenge.” Vowing revenge against the student body, Dennis goes to the trunk of his car and takes out his “tools” – duct tape, zip ties, and rubber gloves. Dennis unconvincingly passes these off as “fetish [stuff].” However, the gang’s disturbed and questioning expressions speak louder than his words.

5 The Implication

One of the most famous scenes in Always Sunny history is Dennis’s implication. In Dennis’s view, buying a boat is a great way to score women. In his opinion, the women will not refuse his advances because of “the implication” – that is, the implication that they will be sexually assaulted if they say no. He tries to convince a clearly disturbed Mac that no, he will not actually rape any women in their boat. Mac isn’t entirely convinced.

4 Head In A Freezer

The hilarious Chardee MacDennis is a great sociological game that can really bring out the worst (and best, sometimes) in people. Case in point – Dennis’s bizarre sign of true love. During the “artistry” challenge, the players are tasked with sculpting “love” out of clay.

Frank crafts a heart. Mac crafts “Cupid’s arrow” (which looks suspiciously like a penis). And Dennis crafts a woman’s head in a freezer, which is said to represent “the preservation of love.” Sure.

3 His Vocabulary

Dennis’s vocabulary isn’t what’s psychotic. Rather, we’re concerned about what’s not in his vocabulary. In “The Aluminum Monster vs. Fatty Magoo,” Dennis states that he doesn’t take “no” for an answer. Fair enough. Maybe he’s just a winner. But he takes it one step further by saying the words “no,” “don’t,” and “stop” are not in his vocabulary. It’s yet another hint that Dennis may in fact be a sexual predator. One hint of many.

2 Bench Warrants For Sexual Misconduct

If you need further examples of Dennis being a sexual predator, look no further than season eight’s “Reynolds vs. Reynolds: The Cereal Defense.” In this episode, it’s revealed that Dennis has multiple bench warrants for sexual misconduct. While no details are given, it probably has something to do with the implication. Or his creepy tools. Or the fact that “no,” “don’t,” and “stop” are not in his vocabulary.

1 Keeping Psychological Dossiers On The Gang

In season eight’s “The Gang Gets Analyzed,” it’s revealed that Dennis keeps detailed and up-to-date “psychological dossiers” on the whole gang. Not only that, but his dossier on Dee (his own sister!) has been open since the second grade. Who keeps detailed psychological dossiers on their own friends? For that matter, who keeps detailed psychological dossiers at all? There’s no denying that Dennis is one weird and creepy dude.
