Jerry Seinfeld Joins Superman and Batman in the Batmobile Getting Coffee

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is joining Superman and Batman in a variant cover for an upcoming comic. The well-known Superman fan is homaging his Netflix series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as he takes a ride in the Batmobile with the World’s Finest.

Throughout his career, Jerry Seinfeld has loudly declared his appreciation of Superman. From his standup to his iconic sitcom and various product tie-ins, the Man of Steel has played a big part in his public image. Now, the famous comedian is teaming up with DC’s biggest heroes in new cover art. Although he doesn’t have a part in the issue itself, his appearance on the cover is a fitting tribute to the comedian’s love for Superman.

In a variant cover for Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #1 illustrated by Dan Mora, Jerry Seinfeld goes for a ride in the Adam West Batmobile with Superman and Batman. With each of them holding cups of coffee, the cover homages Seinfeld’s Netflix series, rewriting its premise with superheroes instead of comedians. Driving the convertible version of the Batmobile that Jerry likely knew when he was a kid, the trio comes together for the first issue of the World’s Finest new series written by Mark Waid.

The issue will also feature variant covers by Jim Lee, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, and Jason Fabok, along with a cover by Chip Zdarsky, a variant by Evan “Doc” Shaner, and a “team variant” by Lee Weeks. Although Jerry Seinfeld isn’t a part of the storyline, the cover begs the question of when the comedian will eventually make his comic book debut, beyond variant cover art. Dan Mora’s inclusion of Seinfeld is a fun nod, but it would be another thing altogether for him to actually join DC’s World’s Finest on an adventure from start to finish.

Jerry has often joked about Superman in sitcom routines, bringing him up casually in his sitcom currently available on Netflix. While Superman has always been a major component of pop culture, Jerry’s casual love of the character made him seem trendier than he had been. Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #1 releases on March 15, 2022.
