Travis Scott, who is currently in a relationship with Kylie Jenner from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, was pulled from the Coachella 2022 lineup following the Astroworld tragedy. In November, while performing at his festival in Houston, at least 10 of his fans were found dead, with hundreds injured after a fatal crowd crush occurred. Travis received quite a bit of backlash following the incident, as many called him out for not stopping the concert sooner.
Fans are even attacking Kylie, who is pregnant with their second child, as she shared a number of photos from the concert on Instagram, including one with an ambulance in the background. A few days after the tragedy took place, Travis, Kylie and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family shared their condolences on Instagram to the families who lost loved ones during the Astroworld concert. Even Drake, who performed with Travis that night, posted a message to the victims of the Astroworld tragedy.
It was recently announced that his set was being pulled from the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup following the tragedy that took place at Travis’ Houston festival, which resulted in several lawsuits. Over the weekend, Variety confirmed that the Coachella organizers spoke to the rapper’s team about their intent to remove him from the lineup and pay a fee for the abrupt cancelation. However, his agent is reportedly still working to make him a headliner for the event, which would make it his first show since the crowd surge tragedy. The decision to remove the 30-year-old from the festival lineup was likely charged by the Change.org petition to remove him from the show.
Since the petition started in early November, it has received more than 60,000 signatures. Travis, whose W magazine cover was pulled, was announced as one of the headliners of Coachella along with Rage Against The Machine in August by Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett. The musicians were set to play the festival in April 2020 but were postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The festival will take place at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California, across two weekends, on April 15-17 and April 22-24. However, a replacement for Travis has yet to be publicly determined. Coachella isn’t the first festival to cancel one of Travis’ sets. Last month, Travis also didn’t perform at the Day N Vegas festival on November 13 and was replaced by Post Malone.
Fans are still upset by the events that took place last month at Travis’ Astroworld Festival. People are looking for accountability from the rapper, and, hopefully, not being able to perform at other festivals will allow him to see the changes he needs to make at his shows. At least Travis has Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kylie by his side.
