LEGO Debuts Buildable Disney Mickey and Minnie Mouse Playset

Two iconic brands are joining forces to bring this new and old generations of fans a unique playset. Disney and LEGO are uniting to produce a buildable playset featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, dressed in their classic outfits.
The set is meant to invoke a feeling of vintage cartoon nostalgia, utilizing elements such as stands intended to emulate the appearance of an old film reel to complete the look, adorned with Mickey and Minnie’s signatures. Mickey Mouse will stand at approximately 14 inches (36 cm) tall and Minnie Mouse at 13 inches (35 cm), and the entire set will be comprised of a staggering 1,739 LEGO pieces.

Aside from its famous Disney characters, the set will also come with a several accessories, including a buildable camera and a photo album with LEGO photographs to go along with it. Micky will also be sporting a guitar, and Minnie a bouquet of flowers.
LEGO designer Ollie Gregory explained that designing the playset required utilizing old LEGO designs, “There were lots of challenges to overcome. For example, to create the tips of their noses we even had to bring back the LEGO Classic Space Helmet in black, which hasn’t been seen since 1987.” He then pointed out another unique feature of the playset, “LEGO fans will also notice that we have debuted a new colour in this set, 363 – TR. Brown with Opalesence, the first time it is included in any set.”
The set will be available to fans for $199.99. It can be purchased directly from LEGO stores, or online through the LEGO company’s website. The set will be officially released and fully available on July 1.
