LEGO: The Hobbit brings all of the fun of a LEGO game to Peter Jackon’s The Hobbit trilogy, and these Hobbit cheat codes can make it even better.

LEGO: The Hobbit transforms Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy into a fun game with all the charming comedy that fans have come to expect of LEGO adaptations. While the game only covers the events of the first two movies, there are still 98 playable characters that players can add to their party, many of which can be easily unlocked with cheat codes. LEGO: The Hobbit cheat codes give players access to some of the best – and silliest – characters in the game with minimal effort, making it easy to enjoy all of the game’s antics in both free play and story mode.

Released in 2014, LEGO: The Hobbit unfortunately never saw the release of its final DLC, leaving the story on the same cliffhanger as the end of the second movie, The Desolation of Smaug. The game was pulled from stores and unavailable for digital purchase in January of 2019, but both it and LEGO: Lord of the Rings returned to Steam and the PSN Store in 2020, allowing players to download and play these LEGO titles once again. It’s unlikely that the final DLC will ever be released, of course, but that doesn’t stop players from having a wonderful adventure with Bilbo Baggins and the rest of his crew, in part because of fun LEGO: The Hobbit cheat codes that make the game better.

While 42 of the characters in LEGO: The Hobbit can be unlocked by progressing through the game’s Story Mode, the other 58 must be found in the world and bought with studs. Unlocking every character in the game will grant players the “Quite a Merry Gathering” achievement, which would typically require them to find all 250 Mithril Bricks and forge every Mithril Treasure in the game. Fortunately, many of the LEGO characters that are difficult to find and purchase have cheat codes that players can take advantage of to make this achievement much easier to complete. Players can unlock a character with a LEGO: The Hobbit cheat code from the “Extras” section of the pause menu.

The Bree Peasant Is A Clever Cameo With LEGO: The Hobbit Cheat Codes

While he may not seem like much at first sight, upon closer examination, players will find that the Bree Peasant is actually a cameo of the director of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson. In The Fellowship of the Ring, Jackson’s famous cameo saw him eating a carrot while drenched in rain as the Hobbits first entered Bree, and this LEGO mini-figure of the Bree Peasant is a reference to his appearance in the movie. To unlock this character in-game, players must return a whopping total of 500 carrots that he lost, but it’s much easier to simply enter director Peter Jackson’s LEGO: The Hobbit cheat code instead: 5OJEUC

Beorn Lets Players Turn Into A Bear In This LEGO: The Hobbit Cheat Code

Beorn’s unique ability allows him to transform into a black bear, which increases his ability and movement speed, and players will unlock the “Beorn Again” achievement by transforming into his bear form. Though he originally chases down the party in his menacing bear form, he quickly becomes an ally due to his great hatred of Orcs. While Beorn has a great amount of strength and an even greater love of animals, he still gets his fair share of LEGO antics, even sporting a pair of binoculars as a bear to spy on Azog and his crew. Beorn’s house is also home to the Creature Creator, where players can customize their own mounts with a wide variety of silly styles. His LEGO: The Hobbit cheat code is KEID2V.

LEGO: The Hobbit Cheat Code Captures Gollum’s Quirky Charm

One of the most recognizable characters from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings is Gollum, the lovably creepy keeper of the One Ring before Bilbo found it – or stole it – in his cave. With a variety of funny facial expressions and idle animations, LEGO: The Hobbit’s Gollum is one of the more animated characters that players can unlock and brings a lot of character and personality to gameplay.

In Story Mode, however, he’s a pretty sore loser before being unlocked and added to the roster of playable characters, bashing players’ creations as they solve the answers to his classic riddles. His LEGO: The Hobbit cheat code is 3CE37P.

The Mysterious Tom Bombadil Makes An Appearance In LEGO: The Hobbit

A classic character from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Tom Bombadil makes his appearance in LEGO: The Hobbit as a playable character despite being left out of both The Hobbit trilogy as well as The Lord of the Rings movie adaptations. Tom Bombadil is one of the most mysterious characters in Tolkien’s legendarium, but his good nature, hospitality, and jolly disposition make him one of the most likable as well despite the fact that he barely has any impact on the plot. Players can unlock him with a minigame where they bounce on flowers outside of his humble cottage, but they can choose to take the faster route with this cheat code: 4Y95TJ.

Azog the Defiler Becomes Surprisingly Silly In LEGO: The Hobbit

Azog is The Hobbit’s main villain, aside from Smaug, leading the Orcs on their hunt for Thorin Oakenshield and his party throughout Middle-earth. However, LEGO: The Hobbit doesn’t spare him from some incredibly silly and, admittedly, charming LEGO animations. His missing hand will run around his feet and affectionately climb his arm, becoming a wacky companion to this hulking brute. Azog is one of the more expensive characters to unlock in the game at 90,000 studs, but players can, fortunately, save their studs for a rainy day and enter his LEGO: The Hobbit cheat code instead: 84ZZSI

LEGO: The Hobbit Pokes Fun At King Thrór

The former king of Erebor himself, Thrór is one of the first characters to appear in LEGO: The Hobbit as the prologue takes players through Smaug’s destruction of the Dwarven city. However, in classic LEGO video game fashion, the game pokes fun at this king and his greed, highlighting his love for gold with funny animations and heavy eye-rolls from the characters around him. He also has one of the best beards in the game, which is high praise among a cast with so many Dwarves. He can be unlocked with the cheat code SYKSXF.

Barliman Butterbur Becomes Playable In LEGO: The Hobbit

The owner of Bree’s inn, the Prancing Pony, Barliman Butterbur comes out from behind the bar as a playable character in LEGO: The Hobbit, sporting a hefty tankard as a weapon. While he’s not the most useful character of the crew with no special abilities, this bartender makes for some fun gameplay as players rough up some Orcs with his trusty mug and broad smile. He’s definitely one of the sillier characters available in the game, paying homage to the classic, albeit bumbling and forgetful character from The Lord of the Rings books and movies. His cheat code in LEGO: The Hobbit is XTVM8C.
