Stan and Lisa are going at it once again on Life After Lockup, and this time, Lisa admits how “miserable” Stan makes her. Stan and Lisa rarely get along. But through their countless ups and downs, Stan keeps Lisa around for the company and Lisa stays because she enjoys the stability living with Stan provides. In an exclusive clip of the Friday, September 24 episode, Stan and Lisa attend a counseling session and let each other have it.

After meeting through Seeking Arrangements, Stan and Lisa enjoyed two dates before she was sent to prison. Stan remained loyal to Lisa throughout her incarceration and anxiously awaited her release. Stan boasts himself as a self-made millionaire and doesn’t mind spending money on Lisa, as long as she does what he wants. He lives alone with his cat and has been looking for love after losing his wife years ago. Lisa is a former addict and convicted felon who doesn’t mind living under Stan and satisfying his desires, just as long as he provides the financial freedom she’s after.

It sounds like the two are aware of each other’s wants and needs. But so far, all they seem to do on the show is argue with each other. In an exclusive clip from Friday’s episode (via WeTV), Stan and Lisa go to church to attend a couples counseling session. When asked about the basis for continuing their relationship, Lisa doesn’t give Stan a chance to respond on his own and gives one for him. “Sex,” she declares. But Stan claims they haven’t had any action in “a long time so you can’t say that that’s all it is because I still enjoy being with you.”

The relationship dynamic between Stan and Lisa is anything but ordinary. With about 30 years between them, Stan is a lot older and has been living a straight and narrow life. Lisa, on the other hand, has spent a good portion of her adult years in and out of jail. Stan often comes down on her over her decisions or requests for money, and Lisa looks at it as him belittling her. During the counseling, Stan admits how in love he is with Lisa and says, “Yes I want to be passionate with her.” After saying how Lisa “was a happy person,” she admits Stan actually makes her “miserable.”

Stan, of course, wants to know how he makes Lisa miserable. “The way you are, who you are,” she tells him with tears in her eyes. Viewers have seen Stan lash out at Lisa and go on verbal tirades against her. Lisa says Stan was a lot nicer to her when she was in prison. She says his treatment of her makes her feel like she is back in prison. Lisa tells Stan she feels like he “deceived” her and acted more sweet and endearing while she was incarcerated but showed his true colors once she was out and living with him. The counseling session doesn’t look too good for the Life After Lockup couple. The counselor tells Lisa she sounds like she already knows what she should do, but only Lisa can decide when or if she will ever leave Stan.
