A weird League of Legends bug was recently discovered that made the game’s Trinity Force item grant the full effects of its mythic passive only when it was placed to the right of another item, particularly boots. League of Legends developer Riot Games made some significant changes to the game’s item system late last year that included an overhaul of the in-game item shop as well as the introduction of Mythic Items, to name a few. Riot Games also removed or reworked several of the game’s items for its 11th season.

Apart from the overhaul of the League of Legends’ item system, Riot Games has also been busy with the game’s spin-offs, which include the mobile version of the game called Wild Rift, the turn-based RPG Ruined King: A League of Legend Story, and a new MMORPG set in the universe of League of Legends. The studio also recently unveiled the game’s latest character, simply named Gwen, in a new series of trailers.

The new Trinity Force bug was shared on Twitter by former League of Legends pro player Mike “Wickd” Petersen. In their Tweet, Wickd reveals that Trinity Force only grants the bonus movements from its mythic passive if the item is placed to the right of the player’s Boots in their inventory. They also share screenshots where the positions of Trinity Force and Plated Steelcaps, one of the game’s several boot variants, are switched and show that the movement speed bonus is only applied in the image where the Trinity Force is positioned to the right of the Plated Steelcaps.

Fortunately, the game’s League of Legends’ massive community won’t have to worry about the bug anymore as one of League of Legends’ Lead Game Designers Jeevun “Jag” Sidhu replied to Wickd’s tweet to confirm that the bug has already been fixed, just a few hours after Wickd shared it. Jag doesn’t reveal how the bug occurred, how long it’s been active, or how it was fixed so quickly, but at least players will no longer have to check if their Trinity Force is in the right spot in their inventory relative to their Boots.

This is now fixed. https://t.co/IwAfhyTsk4

With how significant the new Mythic items affected the gameplay of League of Legends and how some of the items, such as Trinity Force, interact with others, it isn’t surprising that a bug or two would pop up eventually as Riot Games tinkers with the new item system. Fortunately, like in this latest case, Riot Games seems to be on top of things and are ready to deal with bugs in a timely manner.
