One of the best fantasy mystery series of the last decade, Lucifer became quite popular among the masses, thanks to its unique plot and storyline. The show’s protagonist, Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) is the devil from Hell who has come to Los Angeles for some fun after getting bored by the job he was made to do by his dad, God.

Now a Netflix Original, the series’ first season released back in 2016, which was loved by the fans and critics alike. In this piece, we are going to rank every episode from the first outing of Lucifer, according to IMDb.

13 “The Would-be Prince Of Darkness” (8.2)

In the third episode of season 1, a party goes wrong. A superstar quarterback hosts a party at his house and in the morning, he is stunned to see a dead girl. Visibly devastated, he goes to his friend, Lucifer, for help. And the devil from hell goes to his only human friend on this planet, Chloe, for help with the case.

12 “Sweet Kicks” (8.2)

The fifth episode of season 1 sees Lucifer become a fashionable devil as they visit a fashion show but a shooting session leaves everyone scared. Someone gets killed and Lucifer is intrigued by that, so he asks Chloe to let her in on the case. Moreover, Maze is frustrated with being on Earth, so she admits to Amenadiel that she wants to return to hell.

11 “Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil” (8.3)

The second episode of season 1 sees Lucifer attend his first therapy session with Linda Martin, while Chloe wonders how Lucifer is alive after getting shot. She wonders what his secret is and talks to Maze, another demon from hell, about it. But, soon, another case comes up and Lucifer tries to get himself involved in it, again.

10 “Et Tu, Docter?” (8.4)

In the eighth episode of season 1, Lucifer finds a new lease of life as his burnt wings now allow him a chance to start over. Chloe and Dan are invited to Malcolm’s welcome back party which leads to a couple of tense moments. On the case front, a therapist gets brutally murdered and Lucifer must find who did the deed.

9 “Pops” (8.5)

In the tenth episode of season 1, it’s time for Lucifer to think about his family as a restaurant owner gets murdered and the prime suspect is none other than his son. It’s a very uniquely planned murder and one of the toughest cases Lucifer has had to face yet.

Also, Chloe’s mother returns and one can tell they do not share a very strong bond.

8 “Manly Whatnots” (8.6)

In the fourth episode of season 1, Lucifer tries to get closer to Chloe or as he thinks, he tries to seduce her. But the devil is rejected and that puts him on edge as he consults with Linda. Meanwhile, Amenadiel talks to Maze about Lucifer, as his frustration mounts about him not returning to hell.

7 “Wingman” (8.7)

The seventh episode of season 1 sees Lucifer and Chloe follow separate cases. While Chloe is looking for possible leads, Lucifer is wondering where his stolen wings might be. Even though Maze is helping him, they just cannot get any closer to finding the truth. So, quite unwillingly, he asks Amenadiel for help.

6 “Pilot” (8.8)

In the first episode of season 1, Lucifer, the owner of a LA club called Lux, loves to charm people with his devilish looks. He has a gift – the ability to reveal every human’s deepest, darkest secrets and he’s quietly proud of that. But when a musician at her club, Delilah is killed, he is met by Detective Chloe Decker, who seems to be resistant to this ability of his, which really bothers him.

5 “St. Lucifer” (8.8)

In the eleventh episode of season 1, as the title suggests, Lucifer tries to do good deeds, thanks to his newfound altruism. He is riding high on confidence after Chloe slept with him in his house, although they didn’t have any intimate activities.

A philanthropist is found dead, which makes Lucifer think about throwing a charity gala at Lux.

4 “Favorite Son” (8.9)

In the sixth episode of season 1, Lucifer is bored by a case that comes into Chloe’s grasps. But, when he realizes that something close to him, that was stolen, might be linked to this case, he begs her to let him have a go at it. Furthermore, Dan is not particularly happy with the amount of involvement Lucifer is having in Trixie’s life.

3 “A Priest Walks Into A Bar” (9.1)

The ninth episode of season 1 has Lucifer walk into a church, which is quite the irony. A priest fears for the youth in his area and believes that a drug operation is pulling things apart. Amenadiel meets with Malcolm to discuss exactly why he was brought back from hell, while Lucifer discovers that he can feel a couple of new emotions.

2 “#TeamLucifer” (9.1)

In the twelfth episode of season 1, Lucifer meets his worshippers, quite literally but he doesn’t like what he sees, thanks to the brutality of their murders. At the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, a woman is found dead, which leads Chloe and Lucifer to a bunch of people who worship Satan. Lucifer also wonders what really makes him vulnerable.

1 “Take Me Back To Hell” (9.3)

The season 1 finale sees Lucifer convicted for murder and for the first time in a long time, he wonders if he should just go back to hell. But, he doesn’t need to worry, as he has a friend, called Chloe who works with him to clear his name and find the true murderer.
