The prequel should dedicate some time to fully portraying the hardships of life in this cruel environment to cement the fact that Immortan Joe kept things at the worst level. It should also deliver a portion of the runtime entirely through the eyes of a slave.

It’s recommended to watch earlier Mad Max films before Furiosa so as to get into the mind frame of this universe. That won’t be a necessity if the prequel shows Furiosa’s younger days, as the point of view of a child in this world will definitely leave a mark.

Of course, there’s the fact that Fury Road left out a lot of information over Furiosa’s upbringing but never portrayed it on-screen, which sounds like a natural thing to expand upon for the prequel. Furiosa’s ties to the Valkyrie can finally be seen in full this way.

It didn’t make a difference that Furiosa was suffering from the lack of an arm as she was still among the most dangerous characters in Mad Max: Fury Road. That didn’t stop fans from wondering why she had a prosthetic arm.

Given how much she despised Immortan Joe, it’s difficult to see why she was a willing participant of his regime when Mad Max: Fury Road began. There’s a possibility that Furiosa only shows her adventures before she came across Immortan Joe, but this would be the wrong way to go.

Instead, Furiosa should build-up to the events that cause the titular character to align herself with Immortan Joe and portray her experiences straight after establishing herself as part of the Citadel. This will also establish the overall nature of the two characters’ dynamic.

3 The Way Immortan Joe Brainwashed The People

The state of the people under Immortan Joe’s control was bonkers, and it’s strange how these characters lived by being malnourished and riddled with illnesses yet still hopped into the dangerous cars and did Joe’s bidding.

It was clear in Mad Max: Fury Road that Immortan Joe used his charisma to effectively brainwash the people, but this had to have been done on a large scale and needs to actually be shown on-screen. Watching the younger Immortan Joe perfect his cult of personality will make for an intriguing watch.

2 Nux’s Upbringing

The character of Nux was a breakout one in Mad Max: Fury Road and undoubtedly among the best performances of Nicholas Hoult. By the beginning of the film, he was a dedicated war boy for Immortan Joe whose only dream was to die and go to Valhalla.

The younger Nux needs to be portrayed in all the ways that motivated him to think that death was the only purpose of his life. The diseases he was suffering from can also be fully communicated in the prequel, along with establishing the limits to his craziness.

1 A Look At The Apocalyptic World

There aren’t many movies all that similar to this series as the main character keeps moving around. Being a drifter, Max doesn’t stay long in one place, although the films always focus on his adventures in a particular and end when he sets out in the world.

Furiosa should fully bring this apocalyptic world to light by showing numerous communities that exist and how the wasteland looks at a stretch. With this being a prequel, the world doesn’t need to be as desolate and could feature additional, more creative settlements that Furiosa visits.
