With the newest Blade movie in production, there are multiple elements the vampire hunter could introduce that fans have yet to see on the big screen.

With the inclusion of Doctor Strange, the MCU drew a little closer into the realm of magic. But now with the addition of the upcoming Blade movie, audiences can possibly be exposed to the supernatural world. This being the famous vampire hunter’s fourth film adaptation, many have knowledge of what Blade is capable of and what fun could arise from this newest addition to the MCU.
But besides introducing the concepts of vampires into the MCU, Blade could very well introduce multiple storylines, myths, and monsters not previously explored. And if presented correctly, many horror genre tropes might be seen more frequently down the road.
10 The Nightstalkers
The Marvel detective agency, Borderline Investigation, was formed by Blade, Dracula-descendant Frank Drake, and vampire Hannibal King. Eventually, they are brought back together through Doctor Strange to fight supernatural opponents. The team was adapted in the panned Blade: Trinity film, with Ryan Reynolds playing a human Hannibal King, and Jessica Biel as the film-created character Abigail Whistler. But with this being a new Blade, fans could see a more comic-accurate interpretation of the team this time around.
Having Blade introduce the trio as Borderline Investigations could add a missing mystery aspect to the MCU, penning any future films as a macabre Sherlock Holmes.
9 Dracula
Arguably the fiercest vampire of all time, Dracula is a powerful and evil force in the Marvel Universe. First appearing in the Tomb of Dracula comics in the 1970s, Dracula has since fought against the likes of the X-Men, Spider-Man, and of course Blade.
The character was adapted in the critically panned Blade: Trinity film, with many holding out hope for a better interpretation of this horror icon. And with Blade and Moon Knight coming to the big and small screen soon, that wish may be coming true sooner than fans would think.
8 The Midnight Sons
Blade has traveled both solo and with some bizarre circles over his many years in the comics. One of the more crazy teams the Daywalker is associated with is The Midnight Sons.
Though the team has swapped characters over the years, the original lineup consisted of Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch), Johnny Blaze, Morbius, The Darkhold Redeemers, the Nightstalkers, and Doctor Strange acting as the mysterious leader. Blade could be the perfect bridge to bring together a horror version of The Avengers, and all other dark team-ups of the MCU.
7 Doctor Doom
This might be a stretch as there are multiple ways to introduce the infamous Doom to the MCU, especially with the newest Fantastic Four film already announced. But with so many characters having crossed the leader of Latveria, it is not completely off the table Doom could be introduced in Blade in some form.
In one storyline from 2006, Doctor Doom seeks out the assistance of Blade, and as payment for going back in time to save his mother, Doom offers Blade a cure to his bloodlust. It is safe to say that Blade’s struggle with refusing to drink blood would make a great character flaw in the MCU, as it did with his previous adaptations, and pose a Hulk-like threat to the group of heroes.
6 Legion of the Unliving
Consisting of various characters during its many incarnations, the Legion of the Unliving is a group that has clashed with the Avengers on countless occasions. Originally created by Kang the Conqueror, the Legion was also used by villains such as Grim Reaper and the Grandmaster. The Legion of the Unliving was made up of such characters as Frankenstein’s monster, the original Human Torch, and even Doctor Druid.
As there have been many losses already in the MCU, both good and evil, there could be many decreased characters used to form the Legion, acting as both a physical and emotional struggle for the new Avengers in the upcoming phases.
5 MI-13
In the pages of Marvel, Blade was also a member of the British secret intelligence agency, MI-13, who protected the U.K. from supernatural and superhuman threats. With the team, Blade battles the forces of Dracula and meets his teammate and lover, Spitfire.
The MCU has expanded from America, to Wakanda, and to the stars above. But if the Daywalker is able to introduce MI-13 fans will be exposed to the likes of Captain Britain and the other heroes from across the pond.
4 Werewolf by Night
Though known for fighting against bloodsuckers, Blade does not just stop at hunting down vampires. In the comics, Blade has sought out and stopped anything that goes bump in the night.
The most famous Werewolf by Night was that of Jack Russell, who became a werewolf due to a long-instilled family curse. The legendary werewolf has been a part of the Marvel horror line since the 1970s and battled against the forces of evil. Introducing Jack Russell to the MCU would be a great addition, with him taking up a sort of “wildcard” mantle that was originally held by the Hulk.
3 The Return of Ronin
In a more unlikely scenario, fans of Hawkeye’s Ronin costume may get another chance to see the outfit, but worn by another hero, as Blade wore the Ronin outfit in order to hide his identity when he joined up with the Mighty Avengers.
Choosing to keep this aspect from the comics in the MCU could be a great unexpected surprise. Fans would appreciate it for the comic nod, while those only familiar with the Wesley Snipes trilogy would find it a great way to subtly introduce the character.
2 Legion of Monsters
If Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, or even the Midnight Sons, don’t introduce a weirder or B-movie style to the MCU, the Legion of Monsters could.
The first adaptation of the group was seen in the form of Morbius the Living Vampire, Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), Man-Thing, and the Werewolf by Night. Their first appearance back in 1973 could be described as a short Twilight Zone episode, as they encountered an extraterrestrial entity with a lesson-teaching twist ending. Since then there have been multiple incarnations of the group to save humanity from dark forces.
1 Switchblade
Originally established in the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider series from the 1990s, the horror comic crossover event “Midnight Massacre” showed a more ruthless and bloodthirsty (no pun intended) Blade than ever before.
After reading a page from the Darkhold, Blade becomes transformed into Switchblade and begins to kill and absorb the powers of his contemporaries, with the climax of the series was important for the large-scale Midnight Sons event, “Siege of Darkness.” With Wandavision presenting the Darkhold to audiences once again, there may be a chance that we could see Switchblade and some other demons soon.
