Loki is on track to be Marvel’s most popular Disney+ series when it premieres on the streamer in June. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki quickly became one of the most popular MCU characters during Phase 1 of the series despite his villain status in Avengers. Loki may have died in Avengers: Infinity War, but Endgame gave the God of Mischief a new chance at life when the Avengers revisited the Battle of New York and he was able to escape with the Tesseract.

Little is know what’s in store for Loki, but early trailers have hinted at the time jumping, universe hopping adventure that’s about to unfold. Loki will run into the Time Variance Authority on his journey and looks to form an uneasy alliance with Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius. Gugu Mbatha-Raw will play another member of the Time Variance Authority in the series alongside Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, Richard E. Grant, and Sasha Lane in undisclosed roles.

All the mystery surrounding Loki apparently hasn’t stopped it from being Marvel’s most anticipated show. According to TV Time, Loki is currently tracking 67% higher than The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is set to debut later this week. The Tom Hiddleston led series is still roughly three months out from being released. For comparison, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is tracking only 38% higher than WandaVision a week out from its release.

Loki being more anticipated than WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier not only shows the character’s enduring popularity, but it also hints at interest in the series’ plot. With Loki traveling through multiple timelines, the series might just be the MCU’s biggest glimpse yet into the Multiverse that is set to break wide open sometime in Phase 4. With this angle, the possibilities for Loki are truly endless and Marvel fans have, unsurprisingly, began theorizing about what the show has in store and what the larger implications are for the rest of the franchise.

Hiddleston, too, looks to be in true God of Mischief form in early looks at the series. Loki’s redemption arc from Thor: Ragnarok is no longer in play as Loki is back to who he was directly after the events of the first Avengers. A return to the true God of Mischief is an exciting prospect for fans and for the character’s future in the MCU. With Loki hopping around the Multiverse, there’s no telling who or what he could run into during the series’ run and that is perhaps the most exciting part of all.
