Netflix’s bizarre documentary about the polarizing zoo owner Joe Exotic has been garnering tons of attention, and here are 10 questions we still have.

While the majority of the world’s population continues to practice social distancing due to the COVID-19 spread, many people spending time at home have now discovered Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness.

The streaming giant’s latest true-crime docuseries centers on 57-year-old Joe Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, the controversial Oklahoma zoo owner currently serving a 22-year sentence in federal prison. The unbelievable documentary is filled with polygamist weddings and sex cults to homemade country music videos and drug trafficking and primarily focuses on how Joe commissioned the murder of his arch-nemesis, animal activist Carole Baskin.

With the docuseries already overflowing with tigers, drug lords, hitmen, cults and polygamy, what makes Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness an even more intriguing watch is the fact that Joe Exotic dabbled in the country music scene.

Audiences are given a look into his life as a country star, along with the bizarre music videos that accompany Joe’s tracks. This has got many viewers at home asking, “is that actually Joe singing?” With many taking to social media to voice their opinion, the majority believes it can’t be his voice. We’ll have to wait until Joe himself opens up about it.

9 Did Carole Baskin Kill Her Husband?

Just like the many unsolved murder questions that are currently keeping us up at night, such as who really murdered Teresa Halbach in Making a Murderer?, this could probably be the biggest unanswered question from the seven-part limited series: did Carole kill her second husband Don Lewis?

So far, it is still unknown where Carole’s husband is and how he could just disappear without a trace. Fans at home watching believe she had something to do with it, or maybe even the tigers, for that matter. Here’s hoping for a new docuseries centered on her missing husband.

8 Did Joe Think He Could Become President Of The United States?

Aside from being a king of tigers and a country music star with a rising YouTube channel, did Joe believe he was capable of becoming the next President of the United States, or was this just a stunt to humor himself and his friends? Or maybe it was even a way for him to bring in more publicity for him and his zoo?

After he tried running for the status of POTUS in 2016, Joe then ran for Oklahoma governor in 2018, winning a jaw-dropping 19 percent of the vote. This is another question audiences will have to wait until Joe himself answers.

7 Are Joe And Dillon Still Married?

After Joe’s very pink three-way marriage in Oklahoma, which was also a bizarre moment in itself, to John Finlay and Travis Maldonado ended, he married his fifth husband, Dillon Passage.

The pair met through Joe’s cousin and married in 2017. They stayed together up until the time of his arrest for murder-for-hire and wildlife charges, which is shown in Tiger King’s seventh and final episode. If they aren’t still together, Joe is sure to have his fair share of potential partners, considering his newfound rise to notoriety. Although Joe has been married five times, the docuseries only focuses on his last three, those being Finlay, Maldonado, and Passage.

6 Will Jeff Lowe Go To Jail?

After Joe was incarcerated, Jeff Lowe ended up swindling and becoming the CEO of the private zoo. By the time the events in Tiger King ended, Lowe seemed like he was on the verge of a federal takedown, basically admitting on camera that he set up Joe for his murder charge.

The documentary also showcases a federal prosecutor stating she was looking into Jeff. In the past, Jeff has been convicted of domestic violence and had also illegally smuggled tiger cubs in a suitcase. A second season could likely explore further into this.

5 Is Doc Antle Still Running A Sex Cult?

Another key player that could play a big role in a possible second season is Doc Antle, who is the founder and director of The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, aka T.I.G.E.R.S., over in Myrtle Beach, Florida.

Doc Antle currently still runs this business, but is he also still running a sex cult? A few testimonials in the documentary alleged that Doc Antle was cultivating a cult-like social structure at his parks, which needs to be further explored by Tiger King’s producers in the future. Additionally, what is the appeal to all these ladies he is attracting?

4 What Happened To Mario Tabraue?

Former drug kingpin Mario Tabraue, who is also rumored to be the inspiration behind Scarface’s iconic Tony Montana character, was introduced in the series’ second episode. However, he was never spoken of again in subsequent episodes, which left a major unanswered question for fans.

What we do know now is that Cuban-American Mario, alongside his father Guillermo, ran a drug ring for 10 years. As a cover-up, Mario used his exotic animal business, Zoological Imports Unlimited, during his drug trafficking days. He was sentenced to 100 years in prison but managed to get out of jail only after serving 12 years due to his cooperation as an informant. He now runs the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami, Florida.

3 How Is Joe Doing?

In the final episode, Joe goes from being good-spirited to being visibly shaken up after he is sentenced to 22 years in prison for his murder-for-hire and cruelty against wildlife charges. However, a lot has changed since Tiger King was released for public viewing.

Fans and celebrities have been showing support, including rapper Cardi B who shared on social media, she would start a GoFundMe campaign to free Joe. Move over, Joe has filed a $94 million discrimination lawsuit from prison against the U.S. Department of Interior and the U.S. Federal Wildlife Service for allegedly launching an anti-gay conspiracy against him.

2 Will We Get More Tiger King Spin-Offs?

With Tiger King quickly skyrocketing and becoming viral shortly after being released on Netflix, many entertainment fans are wondering if more Tiger King content is in the pipeline?

According to reports, a limited scripted TV series adapted from the Wondery’s Over My Dead Body podcast is in the works and will star Kate McKinnon portraying Carole Baskin. Dubbed Joe Exotic, the series is also executive produced by McKinnon and has garnered a lot of interest on the heels of Netflix’s successful documentary. The pending limited series has yet to be picked up from a network or streaming platform, but it should not have a hard time doing so.

1 Will There Be A Season 2?

Since its release on Friday, March 20 Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness has become one of TV’s most popular shows. This then has audiences at home wondering if there will be a season two.

According to Entertainment Weekly, producers Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin shared: “To be continued. I mean, yes we have a crazy amount of footage, and it’s a story that’s still unfolding. We’re not sure yet, but there could be a follow-up on this story because there’s a lot that’s still unfolding in it, and it’ll be just as dramatic and just as colorful as what has unfolded these past few years.” Get the popcorn ready!
