There’s no doubt that Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year, and will possibly be one of EA’s biggest blockbuster titles to date. However, Battlefront isn’t the only Star Wars game the publisher is working on.

Turns out, there’s another Star Wars game currently in development at Visceral Games, and is supposedly a mix of the cancelled Star Wars 1313 and the Uncharted series. Little is known about this second Star Wars game, although Nolan North, who lent his voice for Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, recently provided some insight into the upcoming title during MetroCon:

“If you’re a big fan of Amy Hennig and her style of story, she’s gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted. I happen to know a lot about it and it’s going to be awesome.”

This is good news for those gamers who enjoy the unique blend of story-driven action and puzzle solving in the Uncharted games. It’s also a positive for gamers who were looking forward to Star Wars 1313 before it was cancelled when LucasArts was shut down in 2013.

Seeing Star Wars 1313 cancelled after watching a few promising gameplay demos and trailers was a big blow for Star Wars fans. For those who don’t remember, Star Wars 1313 was a darker, grittier Star Wars title that was set to follow a young Boba Fett as he navigated the shady underground of Coruscant known as Level 1313.

It’s unknown how much of Visceral’s new Star Wars game will capture the feel and story of Star Wars 1313, but hopefully the new game will still provide gamers with the darker storyline many are hoping for.

As for Amy Hennig’s participation, which North mentioned above – that’s something most gamers, especially fans of the Uncharted series, should be excited about. Although Hennig’s departure from Uncharted developer Naughty Dog in 2014 caused the developer to scrap eight months of work on Uncharted 4, her presence at Visceral games is surely a good thing for the upcoming Star Wars game.

While Visceral Games, EA, Hennig, and North are all apparently very excited for the new Star Wars title, it’s likely EA will remain silent on the project until after Star Wars Battlefront launches later this year. Staying mum is almost surely a strategic decision to keep gamers from getting confused about which Star Wars game EA may be marketing at any given time, as well as keep gamers from focusing too much on a second Star Wars game while Battlefront still needs to perform well during the holiday season. Chances are, gamers can look forward to additional details on the new Star Wars game in 2016.

What do you think about EA doing another Star Wars game after the manner of Star Wars 1313 and Uncharted? Is that something you’re excited for? Let us know in the comments.
