Slated to launch in October, Far Cry 6 is just around the corner, with fans of the long-running action franchise getting themselves prepped to go face to face with the ruthless Antón Castillo as they battle to liberate Yara. However, despite the game having not officially launched, it seems Ubisoft is already thinking about what comes next, releasing a new overview trailer today covering Far Cry 6’s post-launch content.

Although the game’s villain-focused Season Pass add-ons were officially announced earlier this year, the promo is filled with several new surprises, the biggest of which being three crossover missions inspired by some notable movies and TV shows. According to Ubisoft, all three of these missions will be added for free and will make their way to the game over the next year.

The first centers around renowned actor Danny Trejo, seeing players help the star make tacos while fending off waves of enemy soldiers. The trailer seems to confirm the mission will pay homage to the actor’s stint as the titular blade-wielding badass in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete franchise, even showing him wield his signature weapon. It will be followed by a Rambo crossover titled Rambo: All The Blood. Stallone’s headband-sporting action hero won’t show up in the DLC, with the mission instead focusing on a Rambo superfan that joins players for an over-the-top, 80s-inspired shootout.

The final DLC of the trio is easily the most unexpected, seeing players embark on a creepy adventure based in the world of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Titled The Vanishing, the mission will see them enter the nightmarish realm of The Upside Down, searching for their dog, Chorizo. The crossovers aren’t the only bits of free content coming to Far Cry 6 after its official debut, with the overview also highlighting weekly objectives known as Insurgencies and additional missions known as Special Ops.

The second half of the trailer then delves into the villain-focused Season Pass content announced earlier this year. The packs will focus on Far Cry 3’s Vaas, Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min, and Far Cry 5’s Joseph Seed, seeing players enter small open-worlds based on each antagonist.

The packs will all use roguelike mechanics, seeing players gather resources and defeat enemies to amass currency that can be used to purchase new items and weapons. However, every death will see them respawn back at their base without the resources they gained on their failed trip. Their ultimate goal will be to escape the mental prison of each character, although the trailer hints the missions will offer additional Far Cry lore and flesh out Vaas, Min, and Seed’s backstories.

Far Cry 6 is slated to launch on October 7 for Luna PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
