A new promotional clip for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye makes fun of the series’ outlandish Tracksuit Mafia that operates in New York City. Disney+’s latest live-action series to take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe sees Jeremy Renner return as its titular Avenger Clint Barton/Hawkeye. Instead of featuring one archer, Hawkeye has two thanks to Hailee Steinfeld’s as Kate Bishop, a young Hawkeye super fan who was inspired by Clint during the Battle of New York. Hawkeye’s cast also includes Florence Pugh as Black Widow’s Yelena Belova, Alaqua Cox as Echo, Fra Fee as The Clown, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, and Brian d’Arcy James as Derek Bishop.

Hawkeye draws from Matt Fraction and David Aja’s popular comic, My Life As A Weapon, incorporating Clint’s hearing loss, Lucky the Pizza Dog, and the Tracksuit Mafia. Episode 1, “Never Meet Your Heroes,” saw Clint in New York City to see a Captain America-based musical with his family while Kate haphazardly dons the Ronin persona, provoking enemies from Clint’s past. In particular, the Tracksuit Mafia and their distinctive red tracksuits (except for their boss, Ivan, who wears a blue tracksuit). In episode 2, “Hide and Seek,” Clint helps Kate shake the Tracksuit Mafia, who now know the latter’s identity and place of residence. At the end of the second episode, Clint decides to use Natasha Romanoff’s old “catch and release” technique to talk to the Tracksuit Mafia and straighten things out. That being said, fans have been thoroughly enjoying Hawkeye’s take the Tracksuit Mafia, who remain faithful to the source material—from their on-the-nose name to a repetitive utterance of “bro.”

Hawkeye episode 2 is setting it up as one of Marvel Studios’ funniest shows to date thanks to some live-action roleplaying, the chemistry between its leads, and the Tracksuit Mafia. After Kate hilariously falls into the warehouse where Clint is being interrogated about her whereabouts, Cox’s Echo is revealed to be leading a portion of the Tracksuit Mafia. While details for upcoming episodes remain under lock and key, it’s expected that Echo will ally herself with our heroes in some way. In the comics, a member of the Tracksuit Mafia known as “The Clown” stabs Clint in the ears, rupturing his eardrums. The Clown and Clint’s hearing loss has already been incorporated in the series albeit differently.

The Tracksuit Mafia will remain as entertaining as ever throughout Hawkeye’s six episodes. Clint’s main mission is to defuse the Tracksuit Mafia’s obsession with Ronin and make it home in time for Christmas. That being said, if Echo isn’t the series’ big bad, many have theorized Daredevil’s Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) will show his bald head—something that has only been exacerbated by a suspicious image that has leaked online. Regardless, there’s sure to be a lot more tracksuits and a lot more “bro”s in the third episode of Hawkeye, which drops on Disney+ on December 1st.
