New Young Rock posters show Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson growing up by exploring the different time periods of the show. After a relatively quiet 2020, where Johnson was mainly seen hosting season 2 of his show The Titan Games, 2021 looks to be a much busier year for arguably the hardest working man in Hollywood. Johnson’s first project this year will see him return to television for his autobiographical sitcom, Young Rock, which was co-created by Jeff Chiang and Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off The Boat).

As one can tell by the title, Johnson’s series will highlight his younger days and how they helped shape him into the man he is today. Johnson will also be starring as himself in the show. The Young Rock trailer shows Johnson running for president in 2032, and through a series of interviews with Randall Park, the show will then dive back in to Johnson’s time as a 10-year-old (Adrian Groulx), 15-year-old (Bradley Constant), and 18-year-old (Uli Latukefu). Young Rock looks to have a nice blend of heart and humor, capturing the actor’s wild days growing up. As the season premiere edges closer, Johnson has shared some new posters showing his growth over the years.

On Instagram, Johnson shared the three new posters of Young Rock that showcase different time periods of his life. The first poster shows 10-year-old “Dewey” with Groulx amusingly flexing his right arm. The second reveals Constant in baggy clothes as The Rock at 15. Finally, the third poster shows Latukefu in gym attire surrounded by weights, showing Johnson’s days as a football player for the University of Miami. In his captions, Johnson provides insightful commentary while praising the actors who play him. As an added touch, the actor posted real-life images of him to go alongside each poster, showing the accuracy of the looks. Check them out below:

The posters, similar to the trailers, capture the fun tone the show will take to explore Johnson’s life, especially with the first poster that shows 10-year-old “Dewey.” Also, much like past Young Rock marketing material, Johnson’s comments on the posters add a lot of information and humor as well. They tease the fun stories the series has in store, such as Johnson’s 10-year-old self “trying to sneak a nip of tequila at the dinner table,” a moment one trailer humorously touches on. The new posters also continue on with the theme of showing a shadow of the present-day Johnson looming in the background. It’s a nice way to keep the momentum going as the intriguing show draws closer.

The series will explore a lot of the wrestler-turned-actor’s life, but Johnson has hinted at the possibility of a Young Rock season 2, as he teased his friend Senator Elizabeth Warren could eventually make a cameo. It looks like season 1 will not explore his transition to WWE, but Johnson himself has said there are a lot more stories to tell if the show gets a season 2. If Young Rock proves to be a hit with audiences and draws big ratings, it’s very likely those will come to fruition.
