Official Disney Princesses Ranked By Their Likability

We all know that Disney’s princesses are all more or less perfect, but we think that they vary slightly in terms of agreeablness.

The Disney Princesses have played a huge part in Disney’s success over the years, being the lead characters in many of the greatest animation movies and becoming incredibly iconic characters along the way. These characters have inspired generations of people and, of course, they are all likeable overall.

However, just because they are Dinsey Princesses does not mean that they are perfect. Every character has their own flaws, just like normal people, and that is what makes them quite relatable, though even huge fans have to admit that some princesses are, on the whole, more agreeable than others.

Some Disney princesses have more mundane personalities while others take more agency in their lives and go against the status quo while going against what’s expected of them as traditional princesses that arguably set better examples for their young viewers. Disney princesses tend to be caring people both for animals and humans alike but some go further and have a more active, not passive, personality.

12 Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

There’s no denying that Ariel is incredibly likeable, and she’s certainly one of the most popular Disney Princesses of all time. That’s because she can be very kind and caring, plus, she has a really inquisitive mind, always wanting to explore and learn.

However, she’s also someone who betrays rules, is incredibly gullible, falls into traps, and doesn’t tend to listen to the advice she’s given by others. That’s something that she learns from throughout the movie, but, overall, it does make her the least likeable in comparison to others.

11 Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

Princess Aurora is another likeable character who is actually put through a lot of difficulties due to the situation with Maleficent. However, she still remains a fairly optimistic character, which comes from her relationship with the fairies, who keep her happy.

However, in comparison to other Disney Princesses, Princess Aurora doesn’t quite showcase as much personality or key traits that make her definable. This just makes her slightly less likeable than some of the other characters within the Disney library.

10 Pocahontas (Pocahontas)

Pocahontas has a real mix of personality traits that makes her such a popular character. She’s very different in comparison to the other characters on this list, which is mainly due to the setting of the movie itself. She’s very passionate about her beliefs, and that is something that is certainly very admirable.

When compared to some of the other Disney Princesses, Pocahontas is a little more reserved and cold with how she behaves. She’s analytical and always focuses on her decisions, but that lack of over the top personality does make her slightly less likeable.

9 Snow White (Snow White)

There’s a lot to like when it comes to Snow White. She showcases hard work, dedication, and compassion to all those that she comes across, which is why she’s a very likeable character as Disney’s first-ever Princess.

However, because she was the very first, Snow White doesn’t get as much detail as other characters that have been made since. While she’s very likeable because of her sweet nature, it’s a shame that she’s not expanded on further within the film.

8 Cinderella (Cinderella)

Cinderella is a classic tale of rags to riches, going from someone who is bullied by her own family to becoming a Disney Princess. She’s a very likeable character, as she overcomes so much adversity and the family life she has makes Cinderella incredibly sympathetic.

She shows nothing but kindness throughout the film, but she’s not quite given as much detail as other characters in terms of her individual personality. However, she is shown to be very nice to those around her, from animals to humans, even treating her family with nothing but love, despite how they treat her.

7 Fa Mulan (Mulan)

Fa Mulan breaks a lot of boundaries within her movie which makes her really stand out as a character, proving that women can do anything that men can. While she does go behind peoples backs and lies, which aren’t likeable traits, she does them to protect her father, which is something that certainly is likeable.

She proves her loyalty and trustworthiness to the rest of the men in the army by her actions, fighting for her country, becoming a top warrior along the way. This is something that makes her very likeable, as she never gives up and does everything she possibly can to be the best version of herself.

6 Merida (Brave)

Merida, as the title suggests, is a brave character who is defiant of her role as a Scottish princess and instead wants to do more traditional hunter tasks as she’s skilled with a bow and arrow. She’s a likable character because she wants to be dependent and not rely on the status quo just because it’s tradition.

She turns to witchcraft to help her situation and creates more problems for herself and her kingdom, but she goes on a life-changing adventure to save those she loves the most.

5 Moana (Moana)

Moana is another lovable and defiant character and daughter to the leader of the island she’s lived on for her entire life. Moana longs to travel and be on the ocean, but her father and the rest of her community forbids anyone to journey away from the island.

Moana chooses not to follow tradition by taking a boat and trying to save their livelihood by traveling to return the heart of Te Fiti running into the demigod Maui on the way. She’s a lovable and independent character who loves adventure and is empathetic and caring to both people and nature.

4 Princess Jasmine (Aladdin)

Princess Jasmine might be in a really privileged position due to being a princess as the movie begins, but she’s not happy to just settle with that. That’s one of the reasons that Princess Jasmine is such a likable character; she wants to experience a “normal” life and doesn’t want to just be hand fed everything.

Jasmine is a very smart woman, and she’s able to work things out for herself, being more than happy to stand up for what she believes in, which is something that allows audiences to really gravitate towards her.

3 Tiana (Princess And The Frog)

Tiana is one of the most underrated Disney Princesses, but she is also one of the most likable. Everything about Tiana screams hard work, which is something that a lot of the other characters don’t quite have to go through, with Tiana fighting for everything she’s got.

She has a dream and is determined to make that happen, even if that means working all hours. Even when she’s turned into a frog, she still remains passionate about making that happen, and that relentless attitude certainly helps make her a likable character.

2 Belle (Beauty And The Beast)

Belle is the smartest character on this list and someone who audiences really gravitated towards and loved. Her outstanding intelligence made her feel unique, and it was certainly a positive thing, being a role model who pushes reading and learning, which makes her incredibly likable.

She’s put in a tough position when she first arrives at the castle, and many people would fear the Beast, but not Belle. She sees through the scary facade and looks at the personality deep within, teaching people to not judge a book by its cover, which is another trait that makes her so likable to others.

1 Rapunzel (Tangled)

While all of the Disney Princesses are likable in their own way, it is Rapunzel who really is the nicest of the bunch. She is someone who has endless energy and passion and is constantly looking for an adventure once she finally gets out of her tower.

She’s a kind character who sees the best in everybody and isn’t judgemental at all. Rapunzel is just a normal girl throughout the film, not even knowing she’s a princess until late on, which is why she’s so humble and easy to relate with, all while being a ton of fun.
