From Charles to Oliver to Mabel, the characters of Only Murders in the Building are capable people. But would they survive in a zombie apocalypse?

From the creators of the titular podcast to the residents of the Arconia, the new Hulu show Only Murders in the Building has a lot of capable characters with tough personalities. From breaking and entering to getting kidnapped, these characters have had to keep their wits about them and rely on their survival instincts — both of which are needed to survive a zombie apocalypse.
Considering that this murder mystery show and a zombie apocalypse both promise death and danger, it’s not too hard to imagine Charles, Oliver, Mable, and co. in this situation. But when it comes to the question of who is most likely to survive, then there is a clear hierarchy.
8 Oliver Putnam
Oliver is one of Only Murders in the Building’s funniest characters, but the least likely to survive. He is very dependent on others, which probably wouldn’t get him very far in an apocalypse. While he is able to run away relatively well, he is easily caught by Jan in the series’ climax and clams up when he is held at gunpoint. Oliver wouldn’t last in a fight against the undead.
His strengths lie mostly in his charisma and people skills, which wouldn’t help him much against zombies. Maybe he could survive if he was surrounded by allies, but probably not for long.
7 Teddy Dimas
Teddy is a smart guy and would probably be able to build and lead a group of allies that could withstand the hoards of zombies roaming New York. However, Teddy only seems able to get things done when other people do the work for him, meaning that he is not very self-sufficient.
Plus, Teddy is one of the Only Murders in the Building’s least likable characters. He also seems like the type of guy who would lie about being bit by a zombie, putting the rest of the group in danger. So not only would Teddy not last long in the apocalypse, but people around him wouldn’t be long for this world either.
6 Tim Kono
Being part of the Hardy Boys, Tim was good at sneaking around undetected by enemies. However, considering that he was able to be killed in this show, he would probably be killed in a zombie apocalypse too.
Since the other people in the building hated Tim, he would find it tricky to gain allyships with fellow survivors. Tim was also pushed around by Teddy and could sometimes put his trust in the wrong people. His best bet is if Mabel gets the Hardy Boys back together.
5 Charles-Haden Savage
Charles is arguably the most intelligent character in the show. He could probably think of ways to out-maneuver any hoards of zombies and would be able to predict which allies could turn on him at any moment. Also, considering he was able to withstand Jan’s poison for so long, if he got bitten by a zombie, maybe he could prevent himself from turning into one long enough to get help.
But in the zombie apocalypse, intelligence only gets a person so far. Ultimately, Charles isn’t as physically capable as some of the other characters, so he probably couldn’t hold his own in a fight against any undead enemies.
4 Theo Dimas
Since Theo is able to kidnap both Mabel and Oliver at the same time, he is clearly very strong, which would help him fight off any zombies. He is also shown to be great at hiding and is quite cunning and sneaky, which would likely come in handy when surviving the apocalypse.
However, the only person Theo would really have on his side is his dad. If Teddy went down, Theo would have to rely on his physical skills alone because nobody else would have his back.
3 Oscar
Oscar seems to be a pretty strong and brave guy, and he would probably handle the apocalypse well. He is also kind and generous, so if survival relied on making allies with anyone, he’d be great at it. Plus, he’s recently gotten out of prison, so he probably has a lot of street smarts that would come in handy.
However, Oscar isn’t the most physically capable, as Mabel is able to get the jump on him in one scene. Plus, since he is such a nice guy, Oscar would probably sacrifice himself at some point to save a person that he cares about.
2 Jan
Jan, who viewers may recognize from The Office, is incredibly smart and conniving. This means that she could probably outsmart hordes of zombies, and even trick people into becoming zombie meat so that she could steal their supplies and escape. She’s also not afraid to handle deadly weapons, branding a gun and poison at multiple times.
Furthermore, since she is a capable murderer, she clearly has the stomach for the horrid situation that the apocalypse would be. Jan would probably thrive in all the chaos and destruction and would make sure that she’d survive to see it all.
1 Mabel Mora
Mabel is tough, smart, and determined, which makes her perfectly capable of surviving the zombie apocalypse. Her mysterious persona is similar to the lone survivor often seen in zombie movies, but Mabel is also able to make friends pretty easily, so she could gain allies in the apocalypse too.
One of the first things that viewers learn about Mabel is that she often dreams of stabbing someone with her knitting needles. She would more than hold her own in fighting off zombies and would survive any of their attacks.
