Packers: NFC North secondary rankings ahead of 2022 season

The Green Bay Packers might have the best secondary in football, so they sit atop the NFC North power rankings.
Despite that, there should be more secondary talent in the division than in recent years. The Chicago Bears have strengthened their defensive backfield in the past few offseasons.
Here are the NFC North secondary power rankings:
1. Green Bay Packers Potential starters: Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas, Eric Stokes, Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage
This could be Green Bay’s best secondary in years.
Rasul Douglas and Eric Stokes were outstanding together while Jaire Alexander was out last season. Alexander, an All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2020 and the highest-paid defensive back in football, returns this season.
Adrian Amos is one of the most underrated safeties in football, and he has been excellent alongside Darnell Savage since 2019.
Depth is the only concern for a Packers secondary that could feature multiple Pro Bowlers in 2022.
2. Chicago Bears Potential starters: Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tavon Young, Duke Shelley, Eddie Jackson, Jaquan Brisker
Upside. That’s the key word for this Bears secondary.
Jaylon Johnson enters his third year. He has 24 pass breakups and an interception in his first two seasons in the NFL.
This offseason, the Bears drafted cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker in the second round and signed Tavon Young.
Eddie Jackson is a two-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro.
There is a lot of potential in the Bears’ secondary.
3. Minnesota Vikings Potential starters: Patrick Peterson, Cameron Dantzler, Andrew Booth Jr., Chandon Sullivan, Harrison Smith, Lewis Cine, Camryn Bynum
There is also a lot to like about the Vikings’ secondary.
Minnesota drafted safety Lewis Cine in the first round and Andrew Booth Jr. in the second round. The Vikings also signed former Packer Chandon Sullivan, who plays at slot corner.
Harrison Smith is a six-time Pro Bowler and Camryn Bynum played well in his rookie season.
Another secondary with a lot of potential.
4. Detroit Lions Potential starters: Amani Oruwariye, Mike Hughes, Jeff Okudah, Tracy Walker, DeShon Elliott, Kerby Joseph
Cornerback Jeff Okudah has only played in 10 games since being drafted third overall in 2020. He suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1 last year.
Amani Oruwariye started 14 games last season and made 11 pass defenses and an impressive six interceptions.
The Lions signed cornerback Mike Hughes and safety DeShon Elliott this offseason. They also drafted safety Kerby Joseph in the third round.
Some good offseason additions, but there are still real questions about the Lions’ secondary entering 2022.
