Person Of Interest: 10 Other Movies And TV Shows The Cast Has Been In

While Person of Interest starred a talented bunch of actors, did any of the fans look into any of the other projects and movies?

The science fiction crime drama Person of Interest kept fans glued to its compelling story, thanks, in large part to the talented cast, many of which had appeared in several other high-profile projects before the show as well as some that went on to even greater fame after.

Taraji P. Henson, for example, has been acting since 1992 and has received an Academy Award nomination, including many other nominations and wins, for her work in both movies and on television. Michael Emerson, meanwhile, has appeared in some of the biggest titles of the 21st Century and currently stars in the CBS series Evil. Then, of course, there’s Jim Caviezel who maintains a relatively low-profile and – fun fact – was originally cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops in X-Men but had to decline the role due to schedule conflicts.

But where else might you recognize the main cast members? While they all have pretty lengthy resumes, they each have standout roles.

10 Jim Caviezel (John Reese): The Passion of the Christ

Caviezel first rose to fame by playing Jesus Christ in the Mel Gibson movie The Passion of the Christ back in 2004, a movie that garnered a lot of controversy, particularly surrounding the purported excessive violence.

Also appearing in movies like The Thin Red Line and The Count of Monte Cristo, his role as Jesus remains his most known, and controversial, one. Caviezel admitted that he found it difficult to find roles after that film but believed that it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience he could not have passed up.

9 Kevin Chapman (Detective Lionel Fusco): Sneaky Pete

Chapman is a recognizable face in television, having appeared in series like Rescue Me, 24, and Brotherhood, as well as in movies like Mystic River. But most recently, he was in the Amazon Prime Video original series Sneaky Pete, which has been considered to be one of the best original series on the streaming service. He appeared in three episodes as Bo Lockley.

Chapman interestingly always seems to play persons of authority, including police officers, though he has also played bad guys, like his role as a mobster in Boondocks Saints.

8 Michel Emerson (Harold Finch): LOST

A talented actor, Emerson has plenty of notable roles to his credit. He has been on series like Arrow and The Practice, and movies like Saw. But one of his most memorable was as Benjamin Linus on Lost, a villain who was responsible for many of the deaths on the island.

Currently starring in the CBS series Evil, Emerson is often cast in roles of mysterious, strange, and sometimes evil characters. He played a serial killer, for example, on The Practice. He has also appeared off-Broadway, starring as Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde back in 1997.

7 Amy Acker (Root): Suits

Acker, who also provided the voice of The Machine in later seasons along with her role as Root, was best known prior for her roles in Angel and Alias. But another series she might be recognizable from is the legal drama Suits, where she played the recurring character of Esther, the sister of Louis Litt, in five episodes of the fifth season.

Acker most recently starred in the superhero drama The Gifted, which was based on the Marvel Comics’ X-Men. She held that role from 2017 to 2019.

6 Amy Acker (Root): Alias

As noted, Acker also had a starring role before Person of Interest on the series Alias. She only appeared in a single season – the last one – as Kelly Peyton, an associate dealing with the Prophet Five organization.

Her character was quick to double-cross people and her loyalties were fleeting, only existing when they served her. While the role was originally just a guest-starring one, Acker’s portrayal of the villain led to a full cast member position for the series’ final episodes.

5 Taraji P. Henson (Joss Carter): Empire

One of the most high-profile members of the cast, Henson had already attracted plenty of attention for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (for which she received an Oscar nomination), as well as for her role in the remake of The Karate Kid.

After playing Detective Jocelyn Carter in Person of Interest, Henson went on to star in the Fox series Empire. She brought life to the role of the outrageous Cookie Lyon, ex-wife of Terrence Howard’s hip hop mogul character Lucious who felt she deserved a seat at the table of the family business. The role earned Henson the distinction of being the first Black woman to win a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

4 Taraji P. Henson (Joss Carter): Hidden Figures

As noted, Henson was known for both movie and television roles prior to starring on Person of Interest, a role that earned her an NAACP Award. Her role as the fierce, confident, and intelligent Katherine Johnson in the drama movie Hidden Figures earned Henson a Screen Actors Guild Award and further solidified her position as a talented and serious movie and television actor.

She also co-starred in the remake of The Karate Kid, starred in the ensemble film Think Like a Man, and Date Night. In 2016, Time Magazine named her among the 100 Most Influential People.

3 Sarah Shahi (Sameen Shaw): Chicago Fire

In addition to appearing on Life and in a recurring role in City on a Hill, as well as in seven episodes of The Rookie, Shahi had a recurring role on NBC series Chicago Fire as Renee Royce, the love interest of Taylor Kinney’s character.

Other roles she might be recognizable from include Fairly Legal, Alias, and Reverie. Some fans might not know this but before working as an actor, she was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

2 John Nolan (John Greer): Batman Begins

While he only had a recurring role on Person of Interest as the mysterious British man who was connected with the villainous company Decima Technologies, Nolan made an impact. Interestingly, his nephew Jonathan Nolan created the series.

Nolan is probably most recognizable, however, for his work within the DC universe, playing Wayne Enterprises board member Douglas Fredericks in Batman Begins.

1 Enrico Colantoni (Carl Elias): Veronica Mars

While he also appeared on the sitcom Just Shoot Me! along with a long list of movies, Colantoni is best known for playing the father of title character Veronica Mars on that cult classic TV series.

In Person of Interest, he played Carl Elias, one of the primary antagonists, the son of a Mafia don and the leader of a crime organization. Of Italian descent, Colantoni was actually born in Canada. Blink and you might have missed one of his most recent appearances in HBO’s Westworld as a pharmaceuticals rep named Whitman.
