Players can unlock Rock Pikmin in Pikmin Bloom. These Pikmin species are amongst the strongest and most sturdy in the group. In Pikmin 3, they made their debut and were used to destroy glass-type enemies and breakthrough solid walls. Similar to the mainline series, Pikmin Bloom allows players to grow all different types of Pikmin from the series. To grow Pikmin, players will need to unlock their seedlings and then walk the required number of steps needed for the Pikmin to grow. Different Pikmin species required different numbers of steps and Rock Pikmin will take the longest to unlock.

Rock Pikmin are the last species players will unlock in Pikmin Bloom, and each species can be unlocked by leveling up. Each level features two challenges for players to clear. Finishing them both will bring players to the next level and give them another two tasks to complete. Eventually, players can even unlock Pikmin Bloom expeditions through leveling up. Many of them are tied to walking around and earning steps.

In order to unlock the Rock Pikmin, players will need to get a Gray Seedling. It will be available once the player reaches level 23. These are the complete lists of tasks needed to reach the Gray Seedling.

• Level 1: Players start at level 1.
• Level 2: Players will need to complete the tutorial.
• Level 3: Players will need to walk 500 steps.
• Level 4: Players will need to walk 1500 steps and grow two Pikmin
• Level 5: Players will need to walk 3000 steps and grow a yellow seedling.
• Level 6: Players will need to walk 5000 steps and grow two Pikmin.
• Level 7: Players will need to walk 5000 steps and complete one expedition. Completing level 7 is how to get access to Blue Pikmin.
• Level 8: Players will need to walk 10500 steps and grow a blue seedling.
• Level 9: Players will need to pick 50 flower petals from Pikmin and walk 14,000 steps.
• Level 10: Players will need to plant 300 flowers and walk 18,000 steps.
• Level 11: Players will need to walk 230,000 steps and grow two Pikmin.
• Level 12: Players will need to walk 29,000 steps and grow two Pikmin.
• Level 13: Players will need to walk 36,000 steps and grow three Pikmin.
• Level 14: Players will need to walk 44,000 steps and grow one Purple Pikmin.
• Level 15: Players will need to walk 53,000 steps and grow three Pikmin.
• Level 16: Players will need to talk 63,000 steps and earn 1-star completion vs mushrooms.
• Level 17: Players will need to walk 74,000 steps and grow one White Pikmin.
• Level 18: Players will need to talk 86,000 steps and pick 100 flower petals.
• Level 19: Players will need to walk 99,000 steps and plant 100 flowers.
• Level 20: Players will need to walk 113,000 steps and grow one Pink Seedling.
• Level 21: Players will need to walk 128,000 steps and complete 10 expeditions.
• Level 22: Players will need to talk 144,000 steps and pick 150 flower petals from Pikmin.

Players will now have access to every Pikmin type and can plant the Gray Seedling to grow a Rock Pikmin. The more the player levels up, the more Rock Pikmin they can add to their team.
