The September lineup for PlayStation Plus has just been revealed, confirming some previously leaked additions like Hitman 2. Created by Sony as a competitor to Xbox Live, PlayStation Plus provides subscribers access to a vast library of PlayStation games for a monthly fee.

New games are added to PlayStation Plus’s assortment of titles every month, ranging from smaller games like Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For The Neighborhood to big triple-A blockbusters like Batman Arkham Knight and Resident Evil VII. Rumors about which games are set to arrive on PlayStation Plus in the coming month are all too common, and while outside leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt (a previous hint that The Medium would be coming to PS Plus this month was ultimately false), some of these predictions about the service’s newest games are often proven correct once Sony’s official PlayStation Plus lineup additions are revealed. This was the case when Star Wars: Squadrons was leaked as one of PlayStation Plus’s June titles, and it seems that history has repeated itself with the early rumors of Hitman 2 and the rest of the PS Plus September lineup.

Earlier today, PlayStation announced the lineup of new games being added to PlayStation Plus in September. These include the previously leaked Hitman 2, the quirky cooking game Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and the licensed Predator: Hunting Grounds, which puts players in the role of either the iconic killer alien or a group of soldiers tasked with surviving a trek through the Predator’s jungle domain. All of these titles will be free-to-play for PlayStation Plus subscribers from September 7 to October 4. PlayStation Plus may have seen a dip in subscribers and active users since COVID-19 lockdowns have started to ease up, but the service is already enjoying one of its more successful years in 2021. Sony recorded a whopping 47.6 million PS Plus subscribers in the Spring quarter, a success that some attribute to the service’s monthly offerings in comparison to Xbox Live. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus has gained a fierce competitor over the years with Xbox Game Pass, which recently branched out onto mobile devices thanks to Microsoft’s new xCloud game streaming service.

PlayStation Plus’s September lineup might have been leaked beforehand, but Hitman 2, Overcooked All You Can Eat! and Predator: Hunting Grounds are all solid additions that add a decent amount of variety to PS Plus’s ever-growing assortment of titles. Subscribers will be able to sample all three of these games when they are added to PlayStation Plus starting next Tuesday.
