Pokémon BDSP How To Get The Full Incense (& What It Does)

The Full Incense in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is a curious item that provides the bearer with a unique battle effect. Typically, Incenses are held items that give some sort of boost to a given type of move, such as the case where the Odd Incense boosts the power of Psychic-type moves by 20%. Although a couple of Incenses were initially introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, the Full Incense was brought into the series with the release of the original Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.

For the most part, players will only be able to find the items that were in the original Diamond and Pearl within the remakes. This includes all nine of the Incenses, like the Rose Incense in Pokémon BDSP that boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 20% and allows trainers to breed Roselia or Roserade to get a Budew as long as a parent Pokémon is holding the Rose Incense. As expected, all Incenses have two effects, one relating to Pokémon battles and the other related to breeding Pokémon.

The Full Incense’s battle effect forces the bearer to move last in the order of Pokémon, regardless of Speed stat. Unfortunately, this effect only occurs if both Pokémon are attacking with moves that have the same priority. For example, an NPC’s Pokémon that uses the Vital Throw move would still last even if the player’s Pokémon is holding the Full Incense. While it’s rare to see any trainer use this item, particularly on a competitive team in Pokémon BDSP, there are a few situations where Pokémon can make the most of the Full Incense.

Full Incense Location in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

The Full Incense can be found in Veilstone City in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To get it, players will first need to be able to use TM100 Rock Climb outside of battle. Then, trainers can use Rock Climb on the small hilltop just right of the Veilstone City Pokémon Gym. Rock Climb can be found on Route 217, on the left side of the trail towards Snowpoint City. After players earn their seventh Gym Badge, Rock Climb will be available to use outside of battle.

Players can get a Munchlax in Pokémon BDSP by breeding a female Snorlax with another Pokémon in its egg group so long as one of the Pokémon in the nursery is holding the Full Incense. For example, suppose the other Pokémon breeding with a Snorlax is a Ditto. In that case, the Snorlax can be either male or female because that egg will always be a Munchlax when either parent holds the Full Incense in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Snorlax and Munchlax have different eggs moves, so a player who wants a Snorlax to know Zen Headbutt, for example, will need to breed a Snorlax with another Pokémon that knows Zen Headbutt, with either parent holding the Full Incense. If trainers want their Snorlax to know Power-Up Punch, neither parent should hold the Full Incense because Power-Up Punch is a Snorlax specific egg move from breeding in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes.
