After what appears to be the complete Pokédex of the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus leaked online, fans are both puzzled and amused by Typhlosion’s latest design.

Social media was quick to latch onto the image of what appears to be a rather deflated Typhlosion. The shared pictures show the Fire Type Pokémon, who is the final form of the starter creature Cyndaquil, without the billowing flames on their back as they simply slouch over sleepily. While many fans expressed disappointment at the underwhelming look, others poked fun at Typhlosion’s sheepish expression, with many suggesting that the beloved Pokémon was simply enjoying a quick puff of marijuana.

While Typhlosion’s Hisuian variant looks markedly different from the 2D sprite seen in early Pokémon games, it does resemble the 3D model used for Pokémon Sun and Moon. Beyond the lack of jagged flames on its back, this version of the beloved pocket monster features a generally slimmer look, sporting a black collar adorned with purple dots. It’s likely that the firey mane will ignite in combat, potentially in a pinkish-purple color to better accommodate its new Fire/Ghost typing.

Typhlosion, who debuted in Pokémon Gold and Silver, isn’t the only pocket monster to sport a drastic redesign for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The recent leak confirms that several other creatures are gaining new Hisuian forms that will slightly alter their types. Beyond the ones GameFreak has already confirmed, such as Zoroark and Voltorb, fans can look forward to updated forms of Goodra, Decidueye and Samurott. Even the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia appear to be slightly different with some fans suggesting that their new appearances may have something to do with their creator Arceus.

Beyond these new Pokémon, fans of the long-running role-playing franchise can expect plenty of familiar yet new updated systems in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. For the first time, the franchise will allow players to explore a semi-open world, tasking them with compiling the Hisui region’s first Pokédex. To do this, trainers will need to prowl through long grass, craft essential components and study the mysterious pocket monsters to learn how they function. When out in the field, Pokémon can be battled with traditional turn-based fights or with real-time combat, a system that must be used to take down some of the game’s more ferocious creatures.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on Jan, 28.
