Pokemon GO Cresselia Counters Guide

Pokemon GO’s Extraordinary Raid Week may be wrapping up, but that doesn’t mean players won’t still be out battling at Gyms. The new rotation of Level 5 Raid Bosses brings Cresselia to the spotlight and offers players a chance to catch the very popular Psychic-type.

Pokemon GO has big plans for early summer raids with three popular Legendary bosses appearing between this week and early July. First up is Cresselia, which means that trainers will be putting their Dark- and Ghost-type creatures to work for the next few weeks.

Cresselia can theoretically be taken down by two very lucky level 40 players with the right weather boost, bonuses, and rosters; but 3-5 high level players is a much safer bet for this fight. Be sure that you have the right movesets for each of these creatures and you should be good to go…

Best Counters

Giratina (Origin) – Shadow Claw/ Shadow Ball

Mewtwo – Confusion/ Shadow Ball

Gengar Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball

Strong Counters

Tyranitar – Bite/Crunch

Weavile – Feint Attack/Foul Play

Houndoom – Snarl/Foul Play

Pinsir – Fury Cutter/X Scissor

Scizor- Fury Cutter/X Scissor

Acceptable Counters

Absol – Snarl/Dark Pulse

Based on prior Battle Raid bosses, it is likely that most trainers can put together a strong team from these options. A few of these picks are sometimes popular with different movesets for other bosses, so just don’t forget to use a TM if needed to get the right moves before heading out for this particular fight.
