Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

The Electric-type is quite powerful and convenient. Because it only has one weakness, boasts one immunity, and is strong against the most common type in the game, Electric Pokémon are highly ranked in the franchise. They’re seen as cool, strong, tough, and powerful, and are incredibly popular as a whole.

Yet, and despite their fierce reputation, Electric-types can be cute as heck. The mascot of the entire franchise is an Electric-type, a charming mouse that’s managed to stay popular for twenty-five years. And just like Pikachu, many other Electric mons are adorable and sweet creatures that can also be incredibly strong in battle.

10 Pikachu

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Arguably the most popular Pokémon of all, Pikachu is the face of the franchise and the most recognizable out of the 898 mons that currently exist. This chubby yellow mouse with red cheeks has become a representative for Pokémon as a whole, thanks in no small part to how unbelievably cute it is.

As an actual Pokémon, Pikachu isn’t exactly the best. It has impressive speed for a middle evolution, but average everything else, including severely lacking HP. Nevertheless, Pikachu has several alternate forms, including a Gigantamax introduced in Sword & Shield.

9 Minun & Plusle

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Two of the many Pikachu clones introduced every generation, Minun & Plusle can be seen as counterparts to each other. Making their debut in the Hoenn games, these two mice are all about teamwork. Indeed, when in double battles, Minun and Plusle will cheer for their partners, with the latter creating pom poms out of electricity.

Despite their tiny and frail appearance, these two are actually quite powerful. Gifted with above-average Speed, their strengths rely on the Special side, with Minun being more of a defender and Plusle focusing on attacking. They usually live in savannas and grasslands are greatly dislike water.

8 Mareep

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

A staple of nearly every Johto team, Mareep is a fluffy, cuddly, wool-covered electric sheep. However, trainers must be wary of touching it since its wool stores electricity and can release powerful discharges. Mild and gentle, Mareep avoids battles in the wild and is generally peaceful.

This sheep-like Pokémon can be found in the wild, mostly in grassy fields, but is most common in farms. Its wool is used for high-quality clothing and it’s also a popular companion for families. It evolves into Flaffy starting at level 15, which then evolves into Ampharos at level 30.

7 Emolga

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Surprisingly powerful, Emolga’s unique typing makes it an unexpected threat in battle. Very fast and sneaky, Emolga has decent Attack and Special Attack and is known to knock out more than one unsuspecting foe. Like any other Flying-type, though, Rock and Ice will bring it down in no time. It is not known to evolve from any other Pokémon but could certainly use an evolution of its own.

Emolga is clearly inspired by flying squirrels. It lives in treetops and is an omnivore that enjoys grilling its food – berries and bugs alike – before eating them. Its cute appearance makes it popular with trainers and children, but Emolga is mischievous and is known to cause a great deal of trouble.

6 Helioptile

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Heliptile and its evolution, Heliolisk, are the only two Pokémon with the Electric/Normal type combination. Helioptile is also the only non-Grass-type Pokémon to evolve after being exposed to a Sun Stone. Furthermore, it and its evolution are two of only three Pokémon that can learn the move Parabolic Charge, which is also the only HP-draining Electric-type move.

This bipedal, lizard-like Pokémon lives in deserts and generates electricity when exposed to sunlight, which it then uses as a food source.

5 Shinx

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Sinnoh’s electric Pokémon by excellence, Shinx is a staple in any Diamond & Pearl teams and will probably retain this status in the upcoming remakes. It’s not only accessible absurdly early in the games but it also evolves into the ultra-powerful Luxray starting at level 30.

Shinx resembles a lion cub but its line is inspired by lynxes. Its fur glows brightly and the light is often used as a defense mechanism to blind opponents. Because of its inexperience, Shinx can generate tremendous amounts of electricity, which will make it shake uncontrollably.

4 Pachirisu

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Another Gen IV Pokémon, Pachirisu is a small, white squirrel with a tail twice the size of its body. When sleeping, it will use the tail as a pillow, and also enjoys chasing and grooming it during the day. Despite its short limbs, Pachirisu can easily outrun predators and trainers trying to catch it.

Pachirisu is playful and highly energetic. It lives on treetops but can also be found near power plants. It likes sharing electricity with other members of its species and is extremely protective of its food, releasing discharges against those who try to take it.

3 Togedemaru

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Togedemaru is not only an adorable Pokémon, it’s also a rather strong one. Its excellent typing grants it a whopping eleven resistances and one immunity, making it an overall threat in battle. It’s also quite fast and is a respectable physical attacker, though its special leaves a lot to be desired.

Clearly based on a porcupine, Togedemaru is one of the cutest Pokémon in all of Alola. When happy, it will crawl up in a ball and roll around uncontrollably. Zing Zap used to be its Signature Move but starting in Gen VIII, Pincurchin can also learn it.

2 Pichu

Pokémon The 10 Cutest ElectricTypes

Pikachu’s pre-evolution, Pichu is a baby Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Playful and mischievous, Pichu enjoys being in groups. Being a baby, it is inept at storing and handling its own electricity and will continuously release it when excited or scared.

Pichu acquired further fame as a roster player in Super Smash Bros. Melee. After being absent in Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Pichu made a return in Ultimate, quickly consolidating as one of the most powerful characters in the games.

1 Yamper

One of the most recent additions to the Electric-type, Yamper is basically a good boi. It is based on a Welsh Corgi, a breed that is particularly famous for its association with Queen Elizabeth. Yamper is highly energetic and enjoys chasing after people, Pokémon, and even vehicles. A glutton by nature, it will help people in exchange for treats. It is a popular option for herding Pokémon such as Wooloo.

Yamper evolves into Boltund starting at level 25, but some believe it would be best left un-evolved, considering how cute it already is.
