PUBG How to Register for FreetoPlay

At The Game Awards 2021, Krafton announced that PUBG: Battlegrounds will become free to play on January 12, 2022. Five years after the release of the battle royale that sparked the genre’s massive popularity, players will now be able to join the fray for free, looting and shooting as they fight to be the last survivor. Pre-registration for free play is open now, and players can sign up to earn special rewards exclusive to this event.

In order to sign up, players can go to the PUBG: Battlegrounds Pre-Registration website and sign in with their account information under Event 1: Free-to-Play Event Registration. A Krafton ID is required to pre-register and claim the event rewards, and players can create a new Krafton ID or link an existing one with the “Krafton ID” option in the Careers tab of PUBG’s menu. Once the Krafton ID has been linked to the account, players will be able to receive their rewards on every platform linked to their account, but they’ll have to do it before the pre-registration window closes on January 11.

By signing up for PUBG: Battlegrounds Free-to-Play pre-registration, players will receive the Special Care Pack, which includes the Highside Slick backpack, Highside Slick top, and 2 7-day Preset Slot Coupons. There’s also an option to invite friends to the pre-registration event, and if players invite 3 friends to register with them, they’ll unlock the Highside Slick Helmet and Iron-G Coin Box for themselves as well as their friends. Not only that, but players will also receive one entry for a Bonus Reward, which gives them a chance to win one of several consoles.

PUBG Becomes Free-To-Play On January 12

After PUBG: Battlegrounds becomes free-to-play on January 12, players will also have the option to upgrade their accounts to Battlegrounds Plus with a one-time charge of $12.99, which will unlock Ranked Mode and Custom Matches. Battlegrounds Plus also includes a 100% XP boost, the Captain’s Camo Hat, Captain’s Camo Mask, Captain’s Camo Gloves, and 1,300 G-Coins. Players don’t need to purchase Battlegrounds Plus to play with a Basic account, which will be completely free once the game is updated.

However, players who have already purchased the game will receive the PUBG Special Commemorative Pack, which will upgrade their account to Battlegrounds Plus once the game becomes free to play. This pack also contains several exclusive in-game items, including the Shackle and Shanks Legacy Pan, the Battle-hardened costume skin set, and the Battle-hardened Legacy nameplate. Players who already owned PUBG: Battlegrounds will also be able to pre-register for the new free-to-play version in order to claim the pre-registration rewards as well.
