Razer Reinvents Blade With This 17Inch Beast Of A Machine

Razer is adding a new gaming laptop called the Blade 17 to its portfolio, and it is arguably one of the most powerful Intel-based machines flaunting a slim form factor. Just last month, the Razer Blade 14 made its debut as the most powerful AMD-based gaming laptop in the market, packing the Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and NVIDIA’s top-of-the-line GeForce RTX 3080 GPU in an impressively compact chassis.

For desktop gaming fans, Razer also lifted the covers from its THX-certified Raptor 27 gaming monitor that offers a 165Hz panel with 1ms response time and a neat cable management design to go with it. Plus, the highly-anticipated Project Hazel face mask got a Q4 release date alongside a few upgrades.

The latest Razer offering is the Blade 17, and with this machine, the company is also dropping the ‘Pro’ branding. Razer claims it to be the most powerful Intel-based laptop it has ever made, thanks to the 8-core, 16-thread 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900H processor at its heart. The Intel silicon under the hood can be paired with up to 32 gigs of RAM and 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD that is upgradeable all the way up to 4TB to store a ton of games.

More Power To Play With

Razer is pairing Intel’s powerful Core i7 or i9 processors inside the Blade 17 with NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX 3080 GPU with 16GB of DDR6 VRAM. Armed with that configuration, the Blade 17 presents itself as one of the most powerful Intel-based gaming laptops in Razer’s portfolio, while the Blade 14 reigns supreme when it comes to the AMD side of the ecosystem. Of course, the Blade 17 has been armed with all the signature Razer elements such as per-key Razer Chroma RGB backlighting, THX Spatial Audio, and a sleek metallic chassis. The company hasn’t skimped on port selection either, equipping the laptop with a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, another USB-C port for Power Delivery, and an SD card reader as well.

There is a 17.3-inch screen upfront, which is available in multiple combinations of Full-HD, QHD, and 4K resolutions paired with 120Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz, and even 360Hz refresh rate. The options on the table are diverse, but the asking price also goes up accordingly. The Blade 17 starts at $2,399.99 for the base model with a Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics engine. However, the final price will reach $3,700 for the fully decked-out configuration with an Intel Core i9-11900H processor and an RTX 3080 GPU. The Blade 17 is now up for pre-orders from Razer’s official website and will also be up for grabs from authorized outlets and retail partners.
