RHOBH What Happened To Kim Richards After Season 5

Kim Richards was known for her outbursts on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but she left the show after season 5 to the disappointment of many fans. Bravo viewers loved watching the child star interact with her younger sister, Kyle Richards. Kim has kept a low profile since departing, but she has been up to quite a bit over the years.

Kim found fame as a child actor after starring in the Disney movie, Escape to Witch Mountain, which launched her career. Throughout her time on the Bravo show, Kim struggled with substance abuse and was outed by her sister, Kyle Richards, during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 1. At the time, fans learned that Kim had gone to rebab during the season 2 reunion but quickly relapsed in 2015 after being arrested twice for shoplifting. During her appearances on the show, fans often watched as Kim seemed disorientated and found it hard to form complete sentences at times.

Bravo viewers were hoping to see all three sisters, Kathy, Kim, and Kyle, back on TV as of late, but Kim still chose to stay out of RHOBH. All things considered, there is no doubt that Kim has had a long road to recovery. After her 2015 shopping lifting incident from a Target in California, she was sentenced to 300 hours of commuting service and 52 AA meetings. Things started to look up in 2016 when she became a grandmother. In 2017, Kim began to really concentrate on her sobriety and volunteered at Skydog Ranch – a nonprofit organization that finds permanent homes for wild mustangs.

Kim started to exhibit some odd behavior again in 2018 after she ignored a lawsuit related to her dog, Kingsley, and didn’t show up to court. A judge ordered her to pay her neighbor $266,000 after her dog attacked a person. After three years, Kim finally wrapped up her probation for shoplifting in 2019. That said, Kim’s fresh start didn’t last long. At the end of 2019, she was rushed to UCLA because her family feared she was struggling with mental health or perhaps even having a breakdown. Nonetheless, the actress fled the hospital against medical advice shortly after being admitted.

Since then, Kim has once again fallen to the wayside. She had planned on publishing a memoir titled The Whole Truth: The Reality of It All, but her publisher scrapped the idea. Kyle told The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers on the last season that she finally had Kim’s new cellphone number. It appeared as though the three sisters were getting along. Kim doesn’t look like she’ll come back to the Bravo series, but fans know never to say never.
