RHONY Sonja Morgan Forced To Take Townhouse Off The Market Once Again

Sonja Morgan from The Real Housewives of New York City is once again taking her infamous townhouse off the market. When viewers think of Sonja, they automatically think of the townhouse she has been desperately trying to sell for the past eight years. She’s had trouble, not only with the decor inside the home, but also trying to keep up with the maintenance. However, it seems she may have to hold onto it for a little longer now that it’s off the market again.

The 57-year-old joined the series for season 3 as a close friend of Ramona Singer’s. While the two had been very close years prior, they lost touch once they both started expanding their families. After becoming a staple in the show, Sonja, who confirmed a season 13 reunion, has been beloved by RHONY fans. The show wouldn’t be the same without Sonja and her wacky personality.

According to the New York Post, the reality star has taken her Manhattan townhouse off the market once again after years without a promising offer. Sonja originally listed the home in 2013 for $9.95 million shortly after her divorce battle with her ex-husband J.P. Morgan, the heir of John A. Morgan. Since then, the townhouse has taken multiple price adjustments, including a price cut of $7.2 million in 2015. In 2018, Sonja still hadn’t received any offers on the home, so she decided to rent it instead. For quite some time, Sonja, who makes fun of weirdest show moments, was renting the five-story residence for $32,000 per month, according to the property record. She spoke about renting the townhome on RHONY and was even living in an apartment in the city for a while.

After renting the townhouse for a short period of time, Sonja decided to begin remodeling the home to attract more buyers. Once the extensive remodeling was complete, Sonja put the home back on the market last summer for $8.75 million. The fashion designer was hoping the booming market thanks to the COVID-19 would work out in her favor. However, after another year of no offers, Sonja, who has a new cabaret show, decided to take the townhouse off the market again last week. The townhouse is located on 63rd Street, with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also includes features such as a wood-paneled elevator, five floors totaling up to 5,500 square feet, an 800-foot basement, a sauna, a gym, and even a library. Outside includes a quaint backyard that spans 575 square feet with a fountain and koi pond.

Over the years, Sonja has done her best to sell her infamous New York City townhouse. It has become a landmark for The Real Housewives of New York City fans, who don’t want her to sell it. Nonetheless, the home represents Sonja’s past, and she needs to sell it in order for her to move on from her old life. Hopefully, after some more remodeling, Sonja, who has a history with Ryan Serhant, can sell it for the price she wants.
