Betty has been through a lot in Riverdale. Between her dad being the Black Hood, her mom joining The Farm, and her boyfriend faking his death, Betty’s life has been somewhat bleak. However, the one constant throughout all of this turmoil has been her boyfriend, Jughead.

While Jughead and Betty are great together, fans can’t help but wonder if Betty would be better off without him. After all, it’s their excessive sleuthing that always seems to get them into trouble. Keep reading to find out the 10 people that Betty should have been with – other than Jughead.

10 Archie

There’s no denying the chemistry between Betty and Archie. They’ve been best friends for ages and they know everything about each other, so it only makes sense that these two get together.

While it’s true that Jughead and Betty’s relationship is pretty adorable, solving mysteries is a huge part of it. Without these Riverdale mysteries, would these two have much in common at all? Not to mention, sleuthing tends to bring out the worst side in Betty whereas Archie always seems to bring out the best in her.

9 Kevin

Speaking of best friendships that should turn into romantic relationships… Kevin and Betty could very well make the perfect couple. Kevin is incredibly caring, sweet, and smart. He seems to know Betty better than she knows herself. Kevin has always had Betty’s back, especially in the early episodes of the series.

At the beginning of season one, fans see Kevin repeatedly protect Betty. For instance, he made sure Veronica knew that Betty was interested in Archie so that Veronica wouldn’t infringe on her territory.

8 Moose

Moose is definitely a beloved character that fans love to root for. Unfortunately, he always seems to get the short end of the stick in Riverdale. He was attacked by the Black Hood, Cheryl publically forced him to come out, and he enrolled at Stonewall Prep where he was later blackmailed and forced to leave.

It’s obvious that Moose has been through a lot just like Betty. We’d love to see these two get together and compare notes, we’re pretty sure they’d find that they have plenty in common.

7 Sweet Pea

It’s obvious that Betty has a thing for Southside Serpents, so why not Sweet Pea? While it’s true that Sweet Pea isn’t exactly Riverdale’s biggest fan, he’s loyal and that’s exactly what Betty needs. Sweet Pea has proved his loyalty to the Serpents time and time again by being willing to do whatever it takes to defend his side of town.

Betty has definitely dealt with her fair share of friends and family who have stabbed her in the back. At this point in the series, Betty really just needs to be someone she can trust and Sweet Pea could easily be that guy.

6 Fangs

Fangs is another Southside Serpent that could provide Betty with the sense of trust and security that she so desperately needs in a relationship. Fangs has been through a lot in Riverdale. He fought hard among the Serpents to defend his side of town, he got together with Midge and ultimately got shot by her mom outside the sheriff station. Fangs was thought to be dead but luckily he’s alive and well.

This means that there’s still a possibility of Fangs and Betty getting together one day. You never know – crazier things have happened in Riverdale.

5 Bret

Bret and Betty would make a pretty odd couple, but then again, maybe not. While it’s true that these two are essentially arch-enemies, sometimes conflict makes for the best chemistry in relationships.

There’s no denying that Bret and Betty have plenty in common. They’re both intelligent, driven, and come from privilege. In fact, we can even see Betty and Bret paralleling Alice and Hal. Between Bret’s diabolical plans and Betty’s dark side, these two could easily join forces and rule Riverdale.

4 Mad Dog

If there’s one thing that you need in Riverdale, it’s protection. Not only is Mad Dog a likable character, but he also has a thing for boxing so we could trust him to provide Betty with the kind of protection that she needs to feel safe in Riverdale.

We’re fairly confident that if Mad Dog and Betty got together, Bret and Donna would stop messing with Betty. Who knows, maybe Mad Dog could even scare Charles into convincing Chic to leave the Core Four alone. Regardless, it seems like Betty and Mad Dog have the potential to make a pretty cute couple.

3 Reggie

In the early episodes of the series, Reggie was by no means anyone’s favorite character. However, as the show progressed, Reggie has grown and become much more likable. So likable, in fact, that many fans were rooting for him and Veronica to stay together. Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t pan out, but who’s to say that a relationship between Betty and Reggie couldn’t work out?

Reggie is far enough removed from the Riverdale drama that he could actually be a really good match for Betty and encourage her to lead a safer, happier lifestyle.

2 Jason

It might seem strange to pair Betty with her sister’s departed ex-boyfriend, but stranger things have happened in Riverdale. In another universe – where Betty is not technically third cousins with Jason – these two could have been a match made in heaven.

It’s obvious that Jason is a standup guy and all he wanted was to escape all of the drama in Riverdale. Both Betty and Jason came from unfortunate upbringings who put them through more than their fair share of turmoil. It would have been great to see these two successfully escape Riverdale together.

1 Anyone Outside Of Riverdale

It might just be time for Betty to take a break from all of the Riverdale drama and find someone new outside of the city limits. Betty has been through a lot in the past four seasons of the show and she’s well overdue for a fresh perspective.

The darkness of Riverdale is all Betty has known for so long that she can’t see clearly anymore. Her life revolves around bleak Riverdale mysteries so some new blood is exactly what she needs to stay sane in the coming seasons.
