A Save Ralph poster and video stars Taika Waititi as a talking rabbit. The New Zealand multi-hyphenate first garnered attention as the writer-director of the Oscar-nominated short film Two Cars, One Night. Since then, Waititi has gone on to write, direct, and star in multiple hit features including Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi is returning to write and direct the latter film’s highly anticipated sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder, which is set to release in 2o22.

A new teaser video for Save Ralph posted on Instagram by the film’s writer and director Spencer Susser features Waititi as the titular talking rabbit. Produced in partnership with Humane Society International, the stop-motion short film is part of the #SaveRalph campaign, a movement to ban cosmetic animal testing. In the clip, lab rabbit Ralph complains of blindness in his right eye and a ringing in one of his ears as a result of his mistreatment. After the trailer went online, Waititi added a poster for the short to his own Instagram account. Check out the teaser and poster below:

Save Ralph also stars Ricky Gervais, Zac Efron, and Olivia Munn. Cruelty Free International estimates hundreds of thousands of animals are used annually to test cosmetics alone. This is a crisis Waititi and Save Ralph will hopefully bring greater awareness to when the short is released on April 6. Based on the video and poster, the film should make many consider the grave ramifications of animal testing for many years to come.
